About Laura

Laura Pellerano studied accounting and finance in college and was first introduced to the real estate industry in the 1980s when she worked for the Chase Bank of Maryland in the discontinued business sector. She worked with failed commercial ventures ranging from office buildings to condominiums, subdivisions, and hotels, from Delaware to Florida. Her husband (now married for over 40 years) was transferred to Hawaii, so they packed up their son Addison and moved to Honolulu, where their daughter Allegra was born. They had a three-year adventure living in the Pacific.

The Pellerano's moved to Maine in 1992 when Laura's husband was assigned as the Operations Officer for the Southwest Harbor Coast Guard Station. They eventually settled in Surry, and Laura became a licensed REALTOR® in 1999, working with Mark Stimson Town & Country Realtors in Blue Hill, then Town & County Realtors, Acadia Realty Group, and now with Legacy Properties Sotheby's International Realty.

Her son Addison is a Navy pilot, and her daughter Allegra is a paralegal. The four-legged members of Laura's family include two Dalmatians, Jazz and Luna, and a Bengal cat named Estel. Laura enjoys spending her free time in beautiful Maine outdoors, especially hiking and kayaking. She loves traveling with her husband, including trips to South Africa (where they saw majestic wild elephants), Iceland, Switzerland, and Germany. They also love cars (especially convertibles) and own two British sports cars in addition to their Honda S2000.

Laura currently serves as the Treasurer of the Mid-Coast Board of Realtors, is a past President of the Acadia Council of REALTORS® and Mid-Coast Board of Realtors, past President of the Rotary Club of Ellsworth (which included wheelchair projects in Belize, Costa Rica, and the Dominican Republic), a member of the Surry Community Improvement Association and a past member of the Surry School Committee. It is the dedication to the local communities that makes Eastern Maine a wonderful place to live, work and play.

Laura provides sellers and buyers with professional service for every real estate transaction and enjoys helping in the transition, whether it is a move across the country or across town. A continued commitment to education in a changing real estate environment allows Laura to meet the challenges and provide her clients with services that meet their individual needs.
