Laurene Carnes

Laurene joined Keller Williams Elite Realty in South Asheville following a thirty year career as a teaching professional in public education. Along with two master’s degrees from Western Carolina University and twenty years as a national board certified teacher, she earned accolades including Teacher of the Year at the school, county, and regional levels. Serving on the first NC Governor’s Teacher Advisory Committee led to recognition for the Order of the Long Leaf Pine, one of the most prestigious awards granted to a NC citizen.

Transferring her success from the field of education, Laurene joined the real estate profession as a broker/realtor. She is passionate about helping buyers and sellers in the changing and expanding Asheville/Hendersonville market areas where she lives, and also brings home building and land development experience with her husband of over thirty years. Her strong communication and organizational skills maximize customer service while professionally personalizing transactions to benefit each and every client.

Formerly from WNY, Laurene moved to WNC in 1989, where her husband had lived since 1985, founding and managing his specialty contracting business. Their two children were born and raised here, and graduated from Appalachian State University and UNC-Charlotte. They continue to live in the Asheville area. Her favorite leisure activities include family time, reading, watching movies, relaxing at Lake Keowee, and playing tennis/pickleball and golf.
