Laurie was immensely helpful, kind and effective in our search for land! She took the time to chat with us and get to know the ins and outs of our real estate wants and needs - and then searched for available properties accordingly. We are not from the NC area, so when we visited she met with us in person to show us around the property area and answer any questions we had. Now to update. We really wanted to sell our old home and of course who did we turn to? Laurie has been a dream throughout the whole process. Whether it be finding the right people to work on the home to get it ready to sell, helping us get it on the market quickly, or calming my nerves at just the right times so that everything went smoothly. What would we do without Laurie?! Navigating this wild housing market is stressful enough, but as first-time homebuyers, it's tough to know which step to take first, and where. Luckily, a friend recommended starting with Laurie Reese as our realtor, and the hazy clouds of the home buying process seemed to part. She is super responsive, informative, and we always felt supported and sure-footed in our decisions (even though we are beginners)! Laurie has found the fine balance between trusting her clients to make the best decision for their lifestyle and budget, as well as providing KEY recommendations when needed without biases or ever feeling pushy.
We started looking for houses with Laurie in December 2020, when it seemed everyone else did too. I noticed new listings were often going under contract the same day, and as a healthcare professional working long hours, I sent her an email saturated with anxiety, wondering if we would ever be able to find an affordable place on my few days off. She responded with kindness, reassurance, and confidence. I really felt like she had my back. Using the housing website she recommended, I was browsing houses on my day off in the morning and found one which seemed to fit the bill. We saw it that afternoon, placed an offer after viewing, and it was accepted that very night. Wowee!!
Laurie is extremely kind, knowledgeable, positive, and I trusted her completely to represent our values and needs in the inevitable negotiations with the sellers. She has great connections in the Asheville area, and every recommendation she provided from start to "finish" was spot-on. Finish is in quotes because she is STILL available for recommendations for projects we are working on in our new home after the sale. We feel so lucky to be able to buy a house this year in general, but have been so fortunate to have Laurie on our side through it all. When we would look at houses that weren't quite right for us, Laurie was fully supportive and listened attentively. My husband and I have been thinking about buying a home in Asheville for a while, but were "on the fence". Laurie knew we weren't completely committed, but she stayed in contact with us and sent us dozens of homes to consider. You won't find a more honest, caring, sweet, hard working agent anywhere. There's no way I could have made it through the stress of buying our house without Laurie. 30 years of being a contractor I've worked with tons of real estate agents, a lot of whom I would classify as lower than used car salesmen, Laurie is definitely the exception. Never did it even occur to me to think that she had anything but my interests and well being in mind. I've often thought that real estate commissions were excessive, but I have to say Laurie deserves every penny she made on our transaction and then some. In a business that is full of individuals looking to represent you, it can be challenging to know who to go with. Laurie Reese is one of those few people who can quickly understand your needs in a home and at the same time make you feel at ease in collaboration and decision making. She is exceptionally responsive and respectful to the process and the importance of the decision being made. Numerous times she adjusted and accommodated to what worked best for me and made it all feel painless.
