Lewis England

Lewis England spent his formative years helping his family raise registered black angus cattle, mend fences and ranch. His entire childhood on the family ranch in Salmon, Idaho was steeped in traditions that make the American West what it is – and its people resilient. His western roots go deep as does his love and appreciation for the land – the very same earth that sustained his ancestors for generations. Now, he is thrilled to help others find their western dreams beneath the Big Sky. He works tirelessly for clients who often become friends. Lewis carries on the tradition of his hardworking family – and takes pride in the lessons he learned through toil.

When he wasn’t helping with the ranch, he was running equipment, framing and doing concrete work for his family’s construction company. After high school, Lewis attended Marion Military Institute, one of the oldest military academies in the United States, where he developed a deeper understanding of the importance of integrity and leadership. He then received his commission to the United States Army as a Second Lieutenant and spent eight years as an officer in combat engineer and infantry units.

Lewis worked as a volunteer firefighter while earning his undergraduate degree and gleaned insight while there – he finds purpose in life by helping others. Lewis has now spent the last 15 years as a professional full-time firefighter and EMT. Indicative of the expertise he has acquired, he teaches auto extrication and is one of the team leaders for technical rescue specializing in collapse and heavy rescue disciplines.

Entrepreneurial by nature, Lewis has also opened several small businesses, including the construction industry. He has developed a keen eye for detail and quality from his decades of building homes and buildings – from dirt work to the finish work. He has also watched his mother build a successful real estate business for over 20 years. Now, they both share a family legacy that initially started in the Texas panhandle in the late 1800’s.

In the rare times that Lewis takes time off of work, he can be found in the wilds of Montana and Idaho. An avid bowhunter, angler and outdoor adventurer, he is at home in the great outdoors. Lewis has recently taken to experiencing the skies with paragliding and free flight. Catching thermals and soaring mountain tops allows him a unique connection to the land. He is now working towards obtaining his tandem license in order to share the sport with others.

There is an untamable and wild spirit to the land and people – this is the lure of the west. Yet its hidden treasures, both earned and freely given, are life changing – from landing that first beautiful fish with a fly rod to viewing a sunrise from a summit. There is life-renewing power in bluebird powder days and adventures on the rivers. The serenity of mountains silhouetted in the distance while encircling a perfect campfire with friends and family – these are the foundations of lasting memories.
