Marcelo’s journey began in Recife, Brazil, where he earned his Civil Engineering degree before moving to Athens, Georgia, to study English at UGA's American Language Program. Originally planning to return to Brazil for a civil engineering career, Marcelo found himself captivated by Athens’ unique charm—where small-town warmth meets the vibrancy of a university town, with its welcoming people, amazing restaurants, and a thriving music scene.
In 2020, Marcelo’s professional life took an unexpected turn when a fire at his workplace ended his 12-year career as a Production Manager. With the world shifting due to the pandemic and job prospects dwindling, Marcelo saw an opportunity to reevaluate his future.
After nearly two decades in the corporate world, Marcelo decided to pivot, discovering a passion for real estate, guided by friends’ encouragement and the support of his family. Transitioning to a more personal career where he could connect with clients, Marcelo earned his real estate license and embraced the chance to help people find their homes.
As a Realtor, Marcelo brings a fresh perspective shaped by his diverse background. He believes that buying or selling a home should be a positive, stress-free experience. When he's not helping clients navigate the market, you’ll find him playing guitar with his band, The Original Screw Tops, adding to the rich musical tapestry of Athens.
