We happened upon working with Margie by chance as a result of my husband’s relocation for work. However, throughout the entire process of buying our home, we simply could not believe our luck. On top of being completely new to the area, this was also our first time buying a home. Not only was Margie knowledgeable and patient in educating us about the different towns and neighborhoods in the area, she was also a sympathetic ear and trusted advisor throughout the entire process. From driving us around to visit countless houses during our weekend visit, to keeping us fueled with endless rounds of coffee and tea, and finally, in accompanying us to our closing, Margie truly went above and beyond. Margie was fantastic to work with. We had moved from out of state so needed a lot of help to understand the options for towns, schools, and neighborhoods of interest. Margie spent so much time with myself, and eventually my wife and I, as we explored Western MA and the CT border areas. Margie was extremely patient and thorough, and very knowledgable about the communities we explored. Once we decided where we wanted to live, Margie showed us every home available and helped us find the right one, and took us through the offer and negotiation stages in our best interests. Margie is an excellent realtor who is genuine, knowledgeable, and extremely responsive (i.e., return calls in minutes, not days!). Margie's industry knowledge was demonstrated throughout every stage of the selling process, from market analysis to pricing to negotiations to closing details. In a tough market, she helped us to list at a price that was attractive for potential buyer's but in a range where we still could see a return on our investment. While other units in our condo association remain on the market for months, ours had an accepted offer on it within 6 days of listing-awesome. I personally appreciate her ability to be straightforward while still being personable and sincere. Margie is a great agent, whether you are buying or selling a home. Margie patiently showed my family house after house, as we were difficult to please. She also took a lot of initiative to locate homes that were not listed in the MLS and was even willing to show us homes for rent, even though she would not have earned a sales commission. Margie Berg is well known in the community, and we met her through family members. Margie is passionate in her desire to help clients meet their needs. In our case, Margie clearly advised us of what we needed to do to get our home ready to put on the market. I have to say it was not an easy task, because in the world of real estate today, a prospective buyer is looking for a home that will meet their needs and has to be able to look at that home as a place they can make it their own. At times, we wondered if it would all pay off, but Margie's encouraging guidance did not fail us! The house went on the market, and the second party that looked at it, made an offer at our asking price! Wow! Margie was with us from the beginning to the end, and we truly believe that although it was difficult to make some of the changes recommended due to emotional ties one would understandably have for the home they were selling, we would most likely not have had such a quick sale. It was evident there were a lot of houses available that had been on the market for many months, and ours was chosen because it had appeal to a prospective buyer.
