About Mark
Earning his, GRI or Graduate REALTOR® Institute designation is important to Mark Jones. He is constantly adding to his real estate knowledge, taking classes, and learning about construction. In fact, Mark credits his need to understand the product he sells as the reason he transitioned from general real estate to selling new homes, “I could learn a community and really specialize and know it. I felt more comfortable with that. I walked the specs and learned the product. That way, I could be really precise.” Along with his GRI, Mark is a Certified Sales Professional and a member of the National Association of Realtors, Georgia Association of Realtors and Savannah Area Realtors. In 2013, he was Landmark 24’s Top Sales Agent and recently earned his tenth year in the Distinguished Sales Society. He is also a part of the Savannah Young Council of Realtors and enjoys participating in their events that benefit local homeless shelters and hospice organizations.
Born in Germany to a United States military family, he has lived all over the world. Before his father retired as a major at Hunter Army Airfield, the family even spent time living in Thailand while his father served as the liaison to the Crown Prince. He remembers visiting the royal palace and living in a hotel on the beach. Even though he was just five years old at the time, this incredible experience fostered a lifelong love of the ocean that Mark is happy to continue with his family living in Richmond Hill.
He has also developed a love of music as a teen, wearing out his first guitar so much that he caved in the frets. He started writing country songs, creating around sixty original compositions inspired by the successful artists in the 80’s and 90’s. He moved to Nashville as a young man to pursue the dream of a music career, gaining momentum by publishing a song and playing at the lauded Bluebird Cafe and the Broken Spoke Cafe for the area’s music elite. It proved difficult to carve out enough time to promote his music while working full-time, so he chose to move back to Savannah. He counts his experience in the country music capitol as a learning process and still plays music and collects guitars, mostly for his wife and two daughters.
With Landmark’s new construction, Mark points out the goal of producing a well-built home, “We are big on quality. We make sure the house is done well and tight with proper construction, taking the time to build a home correctly.”
His experience in a military family allows him to connect with the special needs of relocating service personnel. With his attention on constantly adding to his education, he is an experienced and up-to-date real estate agent, able to find exactly the right property for his clients at Landmark 24 Homes.
