About Marlene
Born and raised on Long Island, New York, I embarked on a journey that has taken me worldwide, beginning with my dedication to humanitarian work in the U.S. Army. After completing my education in Practical Nursing in 1979, I joined the Army as a Combat Medic and Practical Nurse, dedicating my career to caring for others in Maternal Child Health, including Neonatal Intensive Care, OB/GYN, pediatrics, and more. During my time teaching at Fort Sam Houston, Texas, I met my wonderful husband. We’ve been married for over 37 years and are proud parents to two incredible young adults and two beloved furry companions.
My military career took me to prestigious places like Walter Reed Army Medical Center near Washington, D.C., and Tripler Army Medical Center in Honolulu, Hawaii. During the Gulf War, I was deployed to Saudi Arabia, where I gained a profound appreciation for the privileges we enjoy as Americans. Concluding my Army service as an advisor at Vancouver Barracks, I decided to make the beautiful Northwest my home. I retired from military service in 1999 to serve as the Community Outreach Coordinator for the Vancouver/Clark Department of Parks and Recreation.
Real estate became my passion in 2006, blending my love for finding great deals and assisting others through their property journeys. I enjoy working with a diverse clientele, including first-time homebuyers, seasoned investors, military veterans, and homeowners looking to upgrade. I truly cherish the relationships I have built as a Realtor.
As an Affiliate Realtor for Homes for Heroes for over ten years, I am dedicated to honoring our local heroes, including police, Firefighters, Active Military Personnel, Veterans, Teachers, and Healthcare Providers, by helping them find their dream homes.
Outside of real estate, I am deeply engaged in community service. I volunteer as a leader at the Free Clinic of Southwest Washington and as Director of Operations for the Community Military Appreciation Committee. Family time, exploring nature, Barre 3, bowling, escape rooms, skiing, and riding my Can-Am Spyder with Combat Veterans International, helping other combat veterans and their families. These are just a few of the ways I embrace life to the fullest.
Allow me to guide you through your real estate journey with expertise, integrity, and a heartfelt commitment to your needs.
