She drew on her extensive expertise to steer us away from some bad decisions, walked us through thorny inspection issues, and helped us negotiate a really cool house in our top choice neighborhood.

And she's so much fun! Maryanne is the friend and the partner you want on this journey with you. She delivers smart advice with honesty and humor, has a fantastic team of equally caring real human beings, and always made sure our decisions were our own.

My only issue is that this review is limited to five stars. She deserves at least ten!

I am basically echoing the other reviews of Maryanne. She is all that and a bag of chips. She is personable, knowlegable, and she gets results. Being out of state and selling a home for an elderly relative, Maryanne handled alot of the heavy lifting in stride. With my Aunt living there for 40 something years and for me never living there, issues would arise and were handled. From staging to closing, we could not have done it without her and her team. I became in charge of an estate 2 1/2 hours from my home. I was recommended to Marianne and it was like God sent me an angel. No lie! She spent so much time talking to me on the phone, calming me down, walking me through things and explaining things to me in a language that I could understand. During the winter, the pipes in the house burst. She found the help, bought them into the home, and made sure everything was taken care of properly. She did inspections for me so I didn’t have to drive up there constantly. Ran my open house, set up estate sale, etc. the property just settled and I could not be happier with Marianne being by my side this entire time. There is no Task too big or too small that she will not do for you. The only sad part about selling the house is that I won’t have constant contact with her. But she is stuck with me because I will continue to be in touch with her. I wish that this would allow me to give you 10 stars because I would. If you are looking for a realtor, Maryanne is the one that you need to have in your corner.
We anticipated that our sale might be a challenge- a 100 year old family home and the fact that we live 240 miles away. It was not. We first contacted Maryanne a full year before listing our house for sale. At the time we were unsure if it was a good time to move, for us or the market. Maryanne's transparency and honesty stood out from the other brokers we were speaking with and ultimately we decided to wait a little to sell our house. Maryanne told us to call when ready, a refreshing departure from the numerous, repetitive follow ups we received from others urging us to list immediately and using scare tactics about timing the market.

Fast forward a year, when we called Maryanne about listing our home she remembered exactly who we were, our circumstances, and our goals for selling. She provided honest advice on pricing, timing, and how best to get our home ready to sell. Her recommendations were quick, cost effective, and helped our house stand out in a crowded market. We encountered a little bit of a bumpy ride during the selling process due to many unforeseen hiccups (rising interest rates, skittish buyers, minor inspection issues). Throughout the selling process, Maryanne's steady and calming influence, professionalism, and contacts (so grateful for her contacts, from painters to contractors, to inspectors) remedied every curveball thrown at us. In the hands of someone who cared less, selling could have been a stressful nightmare but Maryanne had a solution for everything.

Maryanne doesn't want to just sell your house, she wants the best for you and your family. At no point during our almost two years of communication did we feel pressured, uncomfortable, or have a doubt that our home sale would be successful. We just bought a house with Maryanne as our broker, and, since I want to believe that all these reviews are honest and genuine, I'd genuinely like to offer mine. Both the stellar and the other kind.

The stellar: It took less than 5 minutes of rapid-fire conversation with Maryanne-- and just on the phone! Not even facetime! A random cold-call on a Sunday morning!-- for my husband and me to realize that we'd lucked out... and that, after 3 years of searching for a house we couldn't visualize, let alone agree on, we were ready, with this person on the phone, to commit.

If you've ever known someone whose profession seems to line up so perfectly with their skill set that you can't imagine them doing anything else, you will recognize this in Maryanne within 5 minutes-- sooner if she happens to be standing in mud, in good shoes, scrutinizing a sewer repair. She is one part structural engineer, one part savvy market pro, one part psychotherapist, one part compulsive truth-teller, one part righteous negotiator, and one part "that guy who knows a guy who's got a guy." She's everything you want in the person you will barely know, but whose solid ground you are suddenly depending on as you contemplate spending the most money you likely ever will on something you'll have seen maybe 3 times, if you're lucky.
Because, honestly, all you really need to know is this:
Maryanne knows her stuff--all of it. And you can trust her.

But there is, sadly, a negative. Somewhere, early on in the process, both my husband and I got the distinct impression that Maryanne came with the house. And, quite honestly, that IS actually why we bought the house and yes, I'm a little annoyed because--Where are you, Maryanne???

I mean, yes, we could conceivably move on to a life without you... a life in which you don't show up with pizza, or that giant "authentic NJ sandwich" thing that we tried for two days to eat but it just kept getting bigger... Or some fluffy white towels, because we obviously look like the sort of people who would not remember which box our towels were in. Or if there even was a towel box.

A life in which I don't call in an SOS to you on a Sunday night asking how to close the dryer door (In my defense, "Just pull up on the door and then close it" did not appear in any of the 5 languages in the manual.)

But we love our house... no, that's not enough-- We're in love with our house.
And we wouldn't be here if not for you. So, thank you.

PS (I do worry that I'm not fully appreciating the particular nuances of the
"Glide N' Access" vs the "Glide N' Serve" drawers of the refrigerator... even getting past the sloppy usage of the missing-letter-apostrophe . Can you come right over?)

Moving….ugh!! There’s a reason why they say it’s one of the most stressful times in a person’s life. Doing it twice in a year’s time is stress on steroids. You need a competent, knowledgeable professional to guide the way. That is why, over everyone else, we chose Maryanne Elsaesser. Maryanne and her team helped us through every step of preparation, staging, and negotiation, often going above and beyond, to complete the sale of our home. Saying good-bye to the home where you lived and raised your family for eighteen years can be very emotional. Even the write-up she did on our listing was so personal and touching, paying homage to our family and all the sports, activities, holidays and memories that took place in our home. She then helped us find a rental property where we could comfortably downsize while we searched for our next home. That transaction was not without challenges, but thanks to Maryanne’s calm demeanor and out-of-the-box thinking, she made it happen. Next came the search for a new home. Maryanne was able to help us land the perfect home at the right price, even though the spring market was very competitive and very affected by Covid-19. NEVER SETTLE FOR SECOND BEST!
Maryanne rocks! She gets it done, it's that simple! We listed our home with another agent first, I won't get into details but it didn't go as I had hoped or been promised. Then comes Maryanne, she is calm, kind and funny. She knows her stuff, she has an in depth knowledge of homes and construction and is a second generation real estate investor, because of that she is recognized for her negotiating skills on inspection items that may come up, you know what I mean when the buyer asks you to basically rebuild the house for them or asks for a ridiculous credit. She has your back the whole time and coaches you through the process so you keep the most in your pocket. She is confident truthful and always makes you feel like you are the most important person in her life by responding promptly and taking time to talk you through things. I can't say enough about her. She becomes your friend and best advocate. If you need a resource she's got one in two seconds. I highly recommend her she is the best!

We met Maryanne Elsaesser at an open house when we began the search for our new home and we immediately clicked. She helped us navigate an extremely competitive market, and successfully listed and sold our first home and the purchase of our new home.
Maryanne consistently provided sound and practical advice and was always super responsive. She took the time to walk us through the process, answering any questions we had, no matter how complex. She is thoughtful, patient and extremely knowledgeable about her market and trends. She also got to know us as a family so she could best understand our needs.
I cannot say enough wonderful things about her approach to selling my home, along with coordinating our purchase on the exact same day. She arranged for a professional stager and photographer to make sure our home stood out among the competition. She even predicted the sale price and number of days to contract and she was 100% accurate. We received multiple offers over asking and we were under contract before the end of the week with solid buyers. In fact, we didn't even need to host an open house the first weekend because before Sunday we had in abundance of offers to choose from. Maryanne strategically negotiated the purchase of our new home, which helped us win the bid amongst other offers. There was never a surprise during either transaction, as Maryanne properly prepared us throughout both our sale and purchase. Maryanne is honest, reasonable and fair and will tell you what you need to hear, even if you don't think you need to hear it. :) She is straightforward but compassionate and truly wants you to be happy with your new home. Maryanne also provided us with reliable and trustworthy referrals when it came to our home inspector, lawyer, and other vendors we requested.
Still today, I can count on Maryanne for advice and guidance and highly recommend her services.

Maryanne was very professional and truly knows the business. She guided us through the sale of our house with compassion and patience even before (a year to be specific) we placed the house for sale. We had already moved out of the area to the west coast when we finally placed the house on the market so it made it impossible for us to personally take care of some details. So we asked Maryanne to do it for us and whatever she was able to do for us she always gladly did it going above and beyond her job. I very highly recommend her to others who are looking for a realtor with not only with full professional knowledge but also more importantly with a heart for her clients.

I strongly recommend Maryanne if you are looking for a Realtor! My elderly parents needed to sell their home in Wyckoff and I live in Indiana. Maryanne made this possible and easy through her flexibility, expertise, strong network and focus on providing the best value and service to her clients. We selected Maryanne over another “Top NJ Realtor” because she seemed to care more about taking care of us then just getting a sale as soon as possible. She delivered on both! She recommended listing the house well over the recommendations of the other realtor and proceeded to sell it at that price before we even had to list it! Throughout the process of negotiations and closing preparation she went above and beyond to coordinate details that I could not handle from a distance while making strong recommendations to push to maximize the price even when it would have been easier and less risky for her to recommend that we except counteroffers due to inspection or other issues. I cannot say enough about her professionalism, expertise and sensitivity in handling this difficult process with myself and my parents. You will not find a better Realtor.

Maryanne is incredible and we were lucky to find her! We had been looking in Franklin Lakes for over a year, with a laundry list of items we were looking for. We were the "picky" buyers that knew exactly what we were looking for. After making the decision to change realtors, we were introduced and began working with Maryanne. Very shortly thereafter, we landed our soon-to-be forever home! Maryanne was creative, responsive and just as determined as we were to get the property... plus, she has a great sense of humor, which is totally necessary when you're driving around the suburbs for hours... We have used Maryanne to buy homes twice and sell a third. Maryanne is extremely knowledgable about the market and provides a lot of advice about pricing and market conditions. She is not afraid to speak her mind and give you her opinion. She also gave a us lot of advice about staging and and prepping the house for sale. She is always on time for a showing or a meeting and responds quickly to phone calls and texts. If we had another real estate transaction, we would definitely use her again.

Maryanne helped us with our relocation from Maryland to New Jersey. She was extremely helpful, knowledgeable and patient. We didn't know much about the town but Maryanne knew EVERYTHING. In addition to patiently showing us many, many houses, she was able to recommend schools, restaurants, fun outing for the kids, grocery store, etc. One major thing that stood out for us was that when we felt like we weren't going to be able to find a house, Maryanne was very calming and reassuring. My family and I worked with Maryanne. She sold our home and helped us purchase our dream home. She made the entire process smooth. She was there with us every step of the way. At one point, the deal for our new home almost feel through. It was MaryAnne who was there to save the day. She ensured the deal went through.
