Matthew Carr is the Managing Broker for National Land Realty in East Tennessee, where he specializes in the sale, acquisition, and valuation of timberland, recreational tracts, rural estates, and development land. A U.S. Air Force veteran and SAF Certified Forester, Matthew brings over 15 years of land and forestry experience to his clients. He holds a Bachelor of Science in Forestry from the University of Tennessee and has worked throughout the Southeast in both public and private sector land management roles.
Since joining National Land Realty in 2016, Matthew has personally closed over 10,000 acres and over $50 million in land transactions, serving a wide range of clients from multi-generational landowners and estate trustees to developers and first-time rural buyers. In addition to his brokerage work, Matthew remains active in land and forestry consulting, providing landowners with expertise in land and timber needs. He is a member of the Realtors® Land Institute, the Society of American Foresters, and the Tennessee Forestry Association. Matthew lives in Maryville, Tennessee, with his wife, Morgan, and their three children. Outside of work, you’ll find him fishing East Tennessee’s rivers, exploring backroads in his Land Cruiser, or cheering on the Tennessee Vols. He believes every piece of land has value and a story, and he works hard to help his clients unlock both.
