This review is well overdue, but I’ve been busy getting settled into my new home that wouldn’t have been possible if it weren’t for Melanie! From the beginning with me contacting her to inquire about purchasing, she has been an absolute gem! Melanie did an amazing job for us. We could not be any happier. She has a bubbly personality and put us at ease as sellers. We live out of town and had interviewed another agent, but her cheerful disposition
and the fact that she grew up in the Opelika area drew us to her; and it was the best decision we could have made. When the time came to list the house, she did a great job of staging it for us, which added greater warm and a homey atmosphere for the buyers to see. She was quick to respond to our frequent questions and concerns. She made us feel like we were her most important client.
When we first contacted her, the house needed a lot of work before we could put it on the market. Melanie had a local contractor for every issue we couldn't handle ourself. Each and every one of her contacts did a wonderful job at a very reasonable price. As we proceeded with repairs, it seemed like more issues came to light. Melanie was encouraging and, with another contact ready to step in, she helped us remain calm through the repair process.

Melanie was absolutely phenomenal! I cannot say enough positive things about her and her family. This was our first home and Melanie walked through each step of the process with us with kindness and patience. She never got frustrated with our questions or made us feel bad for having a plethora of questions. After our initial meeting with Melanie she set up an online profile for us where we could see houses that were on the market and would be able to quickly message her about being able to see those homes. When Melanie was unable to get us into the house, she would have her son – Colton, also a realtor – show us the home. Colton was professional and a joy to work with as well. Due to the nature of our careers, Brenda and I have had to relocate every four to five years over the past 45 years, so we have had a lot of experience in purchasing new properties and dealing with real estate agencies. If you are looking for a realtor who will help you every step of the way, then Melanie is definitely the one you need to call! We contacted Melanie before we were ready to list our home and asked her for advice on what to do to get our home ready to sell. She sent us a very helpful list and we worked our way through the list. Once our list was complete, Melanie met with us and got things moving for us to sell our home. She used a fantastic photographer to take amazing listing pictures, wrote a fabulous description of our home, and used the neighborhood comps to price our home well. She was very professional about obtaining numerous comps in my area and conducting a thorough assessment to recommend a fair and reasonable selling price for my home. She then made great suggestions on what I could do to sell the home. A couple of those suggestions were to get the home staged by Anna Smith Designs and professional photos taken by Danny Hooks. Once these things were accomplished and she advertised the home, within a few days I received an offer for the full asking price of my home. Melanie was extremely nice and always so pleasant. We could not have asked for a better person to sell our home. Melanie had been our neighbor for many years and knew the neighborhood. Whenever we saw her she always had a big smile. Even though our house had a solid offer after being on the market for only 9 days, the Corona virus weighed in on the buyer’s mortgage process. What we though would b a quick closing, turned in weeks of waiting for the process to complete. All along, she kept us posted on what was happening with a positive outlook and words of encouragement. She worked closely with the loan officer to bring us to closing earlier than anticipated. I don’t think the sale would have been as smooth and professionally handled through any other agent.
