About Melanie

Many women enter real estate in search of a career that gives them the flexibility to work for themselves. They seek the ability to set their own schedules and hours to accommodate raising a family. Melanie Musser is no exception to this.

Mel became interested in owning her own real estate brokerage because she wanted to grow her business past her personal sales goals. Initially she was planning to form a team with her now business partner, Joseph Buchert. That all changed when they met with Adam Gamble, CEO & Founder of Iron Valley Real Estate. Mel and Joe saw the opportunity to not only open Iron Valley Real Estate of Lancaster, but to be able to pass on the savings of the brokerage to other Realtors. Mel is passionate about having a brokerage that makes each agent feel empowered and in charge of their own success, no matter what their goals are in this industry. Her favorite saying from the beginning of this journey is” Hustle till your haters ask if you’re hiring!”. Mel feels strongly in shutting out the noise of the doubters and just believing in yourself and chasing your dreams.

Owning her own brokerage has fulfilled Mel’s goals, both personally and professionally. She loves having the ability to help agents grow their businesses by giving them the means to keep more commission in their pockets. It has also allowed her to shift her focus from individual agent to business owner, which gives her more time at home on the weekends and evenings. She also recognizes that by being a female business owner, she is showing her daughter that she too can do ANYTHING she wants if she sets her mind to it. As she tells her daughter daily:

“Shoot for the stars and hit the moon!”

Melanie’s advice to other females thinking about a career in real estate or becoming business owners: 100% go for it!!! Don’t overthink your decision, just do it!
