My wife and I are first-time home buyers and our experience working with Melanie for the past two months has been nothing short of spectacular. She was incredibly knowledgeable, accommodating to our odd schedules, and really went out of her way to make us feel as though we were her sole clients. Communication was always prompt and we saw a high level of integrity. She gave her honest opinions on the homes we viewed - even if they weren't always favorable towards the home. This was not an agent purely looking to make a quick sale! After closing, Melanie even included some welcoming gifts with our home which came as a pleasant surprise. Overall, we are incredibly happy with our first home which would not have happened if not for the efforts of Melanie.

Melanie Tinsley is great. We used her for our two house purchases and would not use anybody else. Melanie made a solid offer on a house that was in high-demand and the offer was accepted. The transaction went very quickly and was without problems. Melanie answered all of our questions in a timely manner and was able to negotiate with the listing agent and work with other agents in her network to make things happen for us. Because she already thrives in such a highly competitive market, she was easily able to navigate the market on the east side of the mountains.

TLDR; pick Melanie- you won’t regret it. She’s the best. She’s honest, smart, savvy, communicative, prompt, responsive and strategic. Details below.

Oh my goodness- I’m so proud of myself for choosing Melanie as our real estate agent- despite my husband’s “let’s try to do it ourselves” crusade (admirable, but not our wheelhouse). I specifically selected and lobbied for us to use Melanie because I know her, have worked with her professionally in the past and I am not exaggerating when I say that she is the best salesperson I have ever met- and I am not the only person to have said this. Stay with me now.

When I say “the best salesperson I have ever met” I don’t mean “she’s going to trick you into buying something you don’t want” because that’s not the case. First and foremost- she will respect your wishes and what you’re looking for, and won’t try to coerce you into buying something that’s not right for you. She’s really savvy and knows when you’re hesitant and will address your hesitations with honesty and compassion.

Where she really shines is when you do find what you want. If she can’t get it for you- nobody can!

Here’s our story:

We found a house we loved and went to tour it the next day. We both agreed we wanted to make an offer and Melanie got to it right away. The market is super competitive right now and she knew the importance of being “on it.” She called the listing agent and found out that our tour was the last allowed and offers were due by 6:30pm- which was not what was listed. It was 5:00pm.

Melanie called us immediately (while driving!) and told us the situation, and talked us through how to make it the most competitive offer. She was honest about the drawbacks and benefits of each option and told us about other options that are available that she doesn’t recommend. Apparently there were *eleven* other offers, and the house had been on the market for only two days.

We talked it over and crafted our offer. When the call was ending, Melanie said she would submit it, and I told her “this is why we picked you. This is where you shine. Do ya thang girl.”

She called us back and told us that while it wasn’t the highest, the sellers loved our offer and were wondering if we would slightly increase the top end of it. We said heck yes and within 4 hours of touring the house- our offer was accepted, we signed our disclosures and were in contract!

At this point- I probably sounded like a sports fan (which I am) because I started to loudly say “heck yes! This is why we picked you!”

The closing process felt like it took forever, but Melanie knew it was important that we get it done quickly, so she worked with our lender and the listing agent to make sure everything was moving along quickly. I had a plethora of questions along the way and anxieties about the process and Melanie patiently and quickly answered all of my questions and addressed my anxieties. The closing process took one day less than a month, and it would have been quicker had we not tried to close in December- given the two holidays, vacations people take, and office closures. 30 days is pretty damn impressive, considering everything.

I had her built up to be the dopest real estate agent ever and I was right. She’s everything I was hoping for. I know it’s kind of weird to trust someone with a huge purchase, and trust that they have your best interests in mind, but Melanie truly does. The work she does changes lives. We are moving from a small house in a busy area to a big house in a quiet residential area, and we are so excited.

If you’re on the fence- don’t be- just pick her because she is THE BEST.

Melanie made our retirement easy. She helped us find our new home in a quiet town of Steilacoom,and it was so perfect that leaving our family home in Seattle was not as hard as I thought it would be. She is so detailed oriented and explains to us the process step by step to avoid no surprises.
She is so motivated and is willing to stretch her time for you juggling her family and client.

Melanie is a wonderful realtor. She found out what type of house we were looking for and worked very hard to make sure we knew as soon as one was listed. She made solid recommendations and ensured we were comfortable through the entire process all the way to closing on purchasing our new house.
