We are retired empty nesters who were looking to downsize, but selling the home in which you have lived and raised your family for more than twenty five years is not something you do very quickly. Our realtor, Melanie Wood, has been a trusted friend and neighbor for many years. Melanie did a walk through two years ago and identified areas to be repaired, refreshed and updated in order to enhance the appeal and value of our house. Melanie and her team provided a detailed plan, timeline and list of resources and service people for preparing the house for sale and offered support and reminders along the way. At Melanie’s direction we purged, painted, and staged our house to best showcase the living space. When the house was listed we had twenty individual showings, two open house events and received multiple offers over asking price. From listing to closing was just twenty days! We did very well on the sale and are thrilled with the outcome!
Melanie has also helped us in finding our next forever home. After of year of research and many road trips, we have decided to move further south --- by just 10 miles and 20 minutes! We are building a new home in the Two Rivers community in Odenton, Maryland! This checks many boxes: single floor living, no yard work, near to family, close to friends, established health care, access to major airports, and to all the cultural things we have enjoyed in Annapolis, Baltimore, and Washington DC.

Melanie Wood and Bonnie Wolfe helped me sell a house on Parke Drive, in Bowie Md. I live in Texas, so they were literally my hands and feet. They did a wonderful job helping me contact repair businesses for things that the inspector wrote up. Then they found a buyer in record time, and Melanie and Bonnie both had excellent communication between me, and everyone involved. If you are looking to buy a home for personal use or an investment property, Melanie Wood REALTOR is the person for you!! With inventory at such a low and houses selling in a day, you have to move fast. I called Melanie at 1 p.m. and she had us looking at two homes by 3:30 p.m. the same day. We liked one so much that she schedule a contractor the next day to show us what needed to be done in order to make the house work on our budget. With this important information we put a bid in for the house in Chartridge, Severna Park, she submitted a competitive bid and the sellers took our offer (and for under asking price). She has walked us through every process and has had suggestions along the way. (She even has a list of suggested professionals: contractors, painters, electricians, handyman, etc...) Melanie is always available for questions and knowledgeable answers!

Full disclosure, Melanie is my mom, but she is great at what she does!! She helped me find, make an offer on, and close on my condo in Annapolis. She made the whole process very easy for me and explained everything every step of the way. I'm a first time homebuyer and the market for buying a condo in Annapolis is really competitive right now, but she got me in to see the condo I liked right away, she helped me send an offer the same day and helped revise it to the point where it was accepted. She stayed in touch with everyone consistently, and gave great recommendations on a home inspector and lender/lending agent. I couldn't have done it without her, highly recommend!
