We arranged to have Melissa be our buying agent in November 2021 and she worked with us to get an idea of the kind of property we were looking for, and what features we really needed and what would be nice to have. She provided us a selection of listings over the next two months for us to review so we could get an idea of what kind of properties were available, which was very helpful in our search process. When we were finally in a position to be able to make offers, we arranged with Melissa to view our top three choices and went with her to see them. When we decided to make an offer, Melissa guided us on the details and worked diligently to get our offer accepted. She then coordinated the whole process through to completion and we are very happy with results. We would thoroughly recommend Melissa to anyone needing professional guidance in any real estate transaction.

Begging your pardon in advance for this admittedly long review, but there are a lot of great things to say about Melissa and our home-buying experience with her.

After a more than 1-year journey, Melissa recently helped us close on a home that surpassed any of our hopes.

It was not an easy task. We first began working with Melissa in Dec 2019. We were selling our home via an iBuyer and expected to close the sale quickly. Melissa showed us a number of great homes in the Curtis Park area. The very day we were to make an offer on a home, COVID-19 hit and our iBuyer canned the deal out of concern for market conditions.

This was hugely disappointing. We lost the house we adored, and now would have to ready our own home for sale ourselves. While we got to work, Melissa waited patiently for us to get ready to buy. Four months later, we had sold our home and were ready to start shopping again.

Melissa was patient with us as we gained our sea legs in this new COVID-19 market. We’d sold in record time in what turned out to be a smoking seller’s market, and now we were getting a taste of what was like to be one of the many buyers competing for the few homes on offer.

She counseled us as we visited homes, expertly assessing whether each home was “the one” for us. If the spark wasn’t there, Melissa could see it and suggested we wait until we found one we felt passionate about. This works in marriage and in home buying, it turns out, and Melissa could not have been more right!

We looked for another three months. Every single time we wanted to see a home, Melissa set it up and met us there, as enthusiastic and as invested in us as she was on day one! Even at our low points, when it seemed we might never find the home we wanted and were being outbid on places we thought were perfect for us, Melissa was certain the right opportunity would come along if we pressed on.

We had a hard time acknowledging that the lower home prices we had seen as lately as March or April were a thing of the past. Eventually, we wised up and learned what this competitive market required. We adjusted our bidding strategy accordingly. Melissa allowed us time and space to learn those lessons, while gently nudging us along the path to realistic expectations.

In the end, the perfect home did come along! With Melissa’s help, we constructed a winning bid. We’re now in a stunningly beautiful home that's even more than we had hoped for. We’re seriously pinching ourselves that this place is ours. If we hadn’t taken those early L’s, and if we hadn’t heeded Melissa’s counsel, we would have settled or missed out.

You should know that Melissa is very, very good at what she does. It’s apparent when you speak with her that she LOVES her profession. She is equal parts cheerleader, social psychologist, neighborhood historian, game theorist and negotiator. Once ink is set to paper she operates with laser focus to get you to a successful close. She has years-long relationships with gifted tradespeople of many kinds, and can place you in touch if you wish.

It's obvious that our recommendation of Melissa is full-throated and whole-hearted!

We have used Melissa numerous times over a 20 year period. She is tenacious with an unbelievable attention to detail. She is responsive to all questions and provides excellent follow up throughout the process. Our most recent home sale was one of the most stressful and I was happy to have Melissa available for questions and to deliver bad (followed by excellent) news when our first buyer pulled out of their contract (selling a home with the uncertainty of a pandemic presents a new challenge).
