We chose Melody as our listing agent based on her vast experience in the Northern Virginia real estate market – especially in our neighborhood of South Arlington. Her initial sales presentation was impressive and comprehensive. She includes services that are over and above those typically found from other agents.

Because we were to be moving cross-country and were not present most of the time, Melody basically became the project manager for getting our house ready to sell, including working with contractors and stagers to oversee the myriad activities that are required to bring a house to market. In addition to holding open houses, she regularly checked on the house to ensure it stayed ‘showing ready’.

When it came to pricing and marketing decisions, Melody was extremely easy to work with. She made recommendations while taking into consideration our thoughts and concerns. She was extremely diligent in working with our buyer’s agent to work through the details of the offers/counteroffers until we finalized the agreement.

We sold our house in Arlington VA about a year ago. We want to recommend our extraordinary Realtor, Melody Abela, to anyone considering sale of a home in that area.

Melody told us her strategy, and I was quite skeptical at first, but the results confirm how right she was. Melody advised us on small upgrades that have high leverage in buyers’ estimation of the value of the home. She provided lists of people whom she trusted to perform the work, although most of it was done by our own contractor, who is now on her list. As the home was empty, it was easy to paint and execute all the other upgrades inside and out in preparation for her staging the home. Melody developed a fairly complex schedule to get everything done in appropriate order, and she executed work, taking a tremendous load of concern from us.

Melody’s pricing strategy turned out remarkably well, with five solid contracts, all well above list price, after only a few days on the market. All transactions between Melody, other Realtors, buyers, and us were open and professional. We came to trust Melody’s advice on all aspects of the preparation and sale of our home. I cannot think of a single thing I would have done differently, except that I did not supply this recommendation sooner.

This was my first experience selling a house. I had many concerns and misgivings regarding what my responsibilities would be. Melody consistently listened to my questions and assured me that everything would be fine. The professional "experts" she employed were also very reassuring and immensely helpful. The house and yard were put into fine shape in a very timely manner. Melody helped arrange getting my house cleared, updated and ready to be out on the market. One of the many professional contacts Melody employed (Caroline) walked through my house on "Skype" pointing out features that would need changes while putting me "at ease" by complimenting many features. Together they assured me that I must "see myself as a house-seller, Not so much a home owner." We sold the house within a few days for the price we were asking. I will highly recommend Melody to anyone, like myself, who has no experience in selling a home and can benefit from having an honest, experienced and supremely helpful coach.

Melody is an amazing realtor and I can't recommend her enough. We've worked with Melody twice now. First when we were looking to rent a bigger apartment in a residential neighborhood and more recently while building a new construction home. Both times she was extremely professional, detail oriented, and a joy to work with. She has a knack for anticipating client needs and intuition for how to make a process move more smoothly. When searching for a rental, she was extremely helpful at guiding us as we looked at different neighborhoods to settle in. She made our search less stressful. The apartment we found through our work together has been an amazing place to call home for several years.
