04/29/2016 - zuser20160306045536797 We were very nervous about selling our home and trying to find a new one. We considered several realtors and ultimately decided on the Gillies team. We're so glad we did! Michael Gillies handled selling our home and his associate Jeanne Defeo handled the search and purchase of our new home. The main things that Michael really stood out on when selling the house were 1.) preparation- we got great advice on what areas to focus on when cleaning, organizing, repairing and staging 2.) Price- he was realistic when pricing our home and showed us a detailed forecast of what our profit would be at several possible price points 3.) negotiating- going back and forth with a buyer can be stressful but Michael helped us to remove our emotions from the situation and focus on our goal of selling the home with maximum gain On the buying side Jeanne was a patient expert. My husband and I have very different personalities when it comes to buying- I am not critical enough and tend to think oh, we can make it work about every house. He analyzes every detail. Jeanne was great at 1.) Balancing our perspectives and helping us focus on what was really important. 2.) being SO patient in answering our many questions and taking us to see any homes we wanted as many times as we wanted 3.) again- negotiating! We had very interesting sellers to work with and the house we purchased was tenant occupied. She helped us navigate this situation with ease and ultimately brought us to closing in a great position. If I could make a very minor suggestion it would just be regarding the admin fees. In addition to the percentage charged to sell our home there was a nominal fee charged on both the buy side and the sell side. We didn't hear anything about these fees until signing our exclusive representation agreement with the agent. It would have made me feel much better if they had mentioned it much earlier on when we were interviewing agents. Ultimately we would definitely use them again! I just really like having every piece of information up front. Thankyou Gillies team!!

They will sell your house and provide guidance thought out the entire process! :-) I contacted the Team a year ahead of the sell of the house, even thou I was not going to sell it immediately, I received their visit from them right away. During the first visit they check the house and make recommendations on what to fix or what should not, best time to put the house on the market and when thru possible scenarios. My house sold on a week and On the price expected!

01/09/2015 - wilberbridges The most impressive thing about working with Michael was his honesty. When he implemented the online search for properties, he was very careful to stay within the guidelines and prices we had requested. He is the first realtor to do that. All the others we have used always raised the price range and attempted to sell higher priced property first. Whenever we ask to see a property, Michael was able to schedule it within a short time frame. We eventually purchased a new house from a builder. Even after we closed on our house, he willingly answered questions and worked with the title company to provide additional information on house warranties. We will continue to stay in contact with Michael to work out issues with the contractor who built our house.

My wife and I had the pleasure of working with both Michael and Cindy and have nothing but the best to describe our experience. As first time home buyers, we required our hands to be closely held through the buying process and Michael graciously provided us all the time and personal assistance we needed. After considering numerous homes, we made the decision to build a home with a local builder/developer. Michael attended every meeting we had with the builder from the initial drafting of the contract, to the pre- construction, drywall, and settlement walk-throughs, and finally settlement. My home was destroyed in a fire back in Aug '15 and Michael Gillies and his team took care of EVERYTHING even before construction was finished. Having just finished a 24 year career in the Air Force, I was no longer living in the Stafford area. Because of Michael's constant communication and his unquestionable trust, the entire sale was done without me ever setting foot in Virginia. We live in Dubai, which presented a whole set of unique challenges including: Powers of Attorney, coordinating with multiple contractors, working around renovation schedules. I never had to wait for information and the information that I received was thorough, clear, concise, and professional. They also made me feel like I was in the lead of this process.
