I highly recommend Mike Vakas as your next Real Estate agent. Over the years, I have bought a number of houses, always using a real estate agent. Mike Vakas blew me away; and, I am old enough to be his mother!

His advice in a very hot market during COVID19, helped us win the house of a lifetime, over 8 other contracts. I found him extremely professional and very knowledgable on how to make our contract stand out to the buyers. Mike worked well with our mortgage representative and the buyers agent. He was always in communication to keep us up on the purchase process. When the time comes, I will be using Mike’s services again.

Mike was instrumental to our family moving to Maryland. Without his help, we would still be in Nebraska. He worked with us on a tight timeline including weekends and last minute notice. I quickly found out there's a reason you see all these five star reviews. People will go out of there way to share an exceptional experience. Mike is absolutely fantastic. Not in ANY way a typical realtor out there to just turn a buck. Mike GENUINELY cares about your specific situation. He actually listens and goes beyond the norm to take care of your needs. He's a VERY hard worker..., extremely dedicated and thorough. I'd highly recommend him to anybody.

Mike was recommended to us by our daughter and son-in-law who were thrilled with the level of service he had provided them in finding a home last year. I was myself a Realtor for many years so I have a ton of experience in the buying and selling of homes and I found Mike to be as good as they get in this business. He was always on the lookout for our best interests and very diligent in following through on things. Rumor has it that buying a home for the first time can be a very stressful event. Taking this notion into consideration when starting out was pretty alarming. Not only is it stressful buying a home, but it is twice as stressful buying a home in a state you don’t live in. Mike Vakas, has proven this rumor to be nothing more than just a rumor. One of the first steps in buying a home is finding a real estate agent that you can trust. People say that you have to go through multiple agents until you find the right agent for the purchase of your home. Once Mike and I met I didn’t want to deal with anyone else. Mike was truly AMAZING from the first hello until the time of congratulations! Thanks again Mike!

Mike Vakas was such an incredible help to me and my wife Helen. We were very nervous about selling our house because we owed more on it than it was worth and we were tired of living in Maryland. We wanted to go to South Carolina but we were stuck in this house with no idea of how we were going to get it done. Not to mention, we lived in the house for a long time and it needed a ton of work and with both of us retired we just didn't have the money really.

We reached out to Mike who was recommended by one of our friends. We didn't really have much hope but after talking to him that all changed. We actually felt we might have a chance, so we decided to try selling our home anyway.

I want to point out that during our conversation, we noticed a few things about Mike. He was a good listener, he asked a lot of questions, and he spoke with compassion and empathy to our situation which was much appreciated. We were grateful for that because everyone around us kept telling us all the things we should be doing but we noticed with him that he asked our opinions and he suggested things but did not expect us to move fast. We felt comfortable with him because he did not pressure us and he worked with us as a team instead of seeing us as just another sale or something to line his pockets with. We truly felt he put us #1 the entire time. If anyone can say he earned his commission, he would come to mind.

He also suggested that we sell it as a short sale and told us it would take several months to sell (which it did) because the bank had to approve it. There was so much paperwork. It was overwhelming at times and it really stressed my wife out. We would call Mike and he would come over and call people for us and help us fill out the paperwork and answer all our crazy questions. Had he not done that, I have no clue what we would have done.

In the end, we sold our house 6 months later and didn't have to bring a dime to settlement and now we are living in South Carolina by my sister in law. All thanks to Mike and his team.

For those looking for someone to be in your corner who you can trust and tell you what you need to hear instead of what you want to hear, who will communicate with you thoroughly and often, and will listen intently, Mike may be a good option for you. He's good with technology, he's got a strong team, he's very organized and knowledgeable and he knows how to negotiate and sell houses.

Micheal Vakas is AWESOME!!! Very knowledgeable, attentive, and efficient.

No question went unanswered and he walked us through every step of the home buying process, which as first time home buyers was well needed and a relief.

Made our home search and buying process enjoyable. He was very flexible and accommodating of our work schedules making himself available at times that worked best for us even if he had to work late.

With a new construction home we wanted to skip out on having a home inspection because we thought what could possibly be wrong? However Mike strongly suggested to have one done to ensure that all was correct with the new build. Surprisingly, there were a few things that required fixing. Mike was a BIG help by actively contacting the listing agent, builder, and home inspector to make certain that all repairs were completed. He really went the extra mile and took the stress off of us without asking.

You can tell he really cares and has the home buyers best interest. FIVE stars hands down. I wouldn't recommend anyone else, coming from someone who had a bad experience with a previous agent.

Normally, I always opt out of customer surveys or feedback sessions but I’m making the exception because it is well deserved. I want to extend a huge THANK YOU to Mike Vakas and the staff at Capital Realtors. The team was extremely friendly, knowledgeable, and responsive, making the process of becoming a first time home buyer almost effortless. Realtor Mike Vakas constantly provided honest, no-BS input when fielding the thousands of questions I presented to him, as well as keeping me informed of kept me informed of the typical home buying procedures (inspection, loan process, Settlement). Vakas even went to the extent of informing me of possible investment opportunities my property could make for such as rentals and AirBrB.

After settlement and moving in, I ran into a serious of unfortunate events. Washer/dryer went up, stove oven would not ignite, mini fridge stopped working, sink hose would not retract, and the hot water out really fast. Overall, I spent well over 2 grand paying for new appliances or repairs. After expressing my frustrations with Vakas, Capital Realtor’s hooked me up with an insurance policy for year in order to mitigate any future nightmares that I could experience.

The team could have easily told me to kick rocks since the appliance issues were not identified prior to inspection and the failures came after settlement but team really wanted me to stop pulling out my own hair and really enjoy the new home. It was an incredible kind gesture and I am extremely grateful.

Overall, great staff led to a great experience, thank you guys again and keep up the good work.

My family and I have been trying to sell this property I inherited for the past three years and it had been very stressful. It was getting to the point where we thought we would never be able to sell it. Mike called us one day after our contract had expired with another Realtor. He seemed confident he would be able to sell it and we really liked the plan he laid out as it was pro-active, aggressive, and methodical. Still, we were a bit doubtful, after all we had been through, given so many false promises it was hard to believe anyone really. We decided to give Mike a chance because we liked his motivated, positive attitude. He set up everything really fast, even getting professional aerial photography so that people could see what a little more than 10 acres looked like. He also did many different types of marketing. What we thought would take another lifetime took less than 3 weeks—we were under contract. We were able to close 2 weeks later with a buyer who paid all cash! Now all this stress is behind us and we can move on to the next chapter in our lives. If you are looking to sell your house or land and you want it to be sold fast, give Mike a call. He’s unique in his approach, communicates clearly and has exceptional negotiating abilities. He also likes to work as a team and proved to be very trustworthy, which is very important to us.

Mike was absolutely wonderful. He went above and beyond to make sure everyone was on the right track to get things to close on time. He was consistently doing everything in his power to make sure I was taken care of in the best manor throughout the whole process. He stayed in touch with every person along the way to make sure everyone was on the right track and making sure extensions were met. At no point did I feel like I couldn't count on him to keep me in his best interest first, get me the best help, and be very knowledgeable. He was able to get me in contact with all the right people to help with insurance, inspections, etc. Overall an amazing realtor and made the home buying process the most stressless process. Mike set up a meeting with me at his own house. We sat in his kitchen and wrote down ALL of my expenses and debts. I couldn't believe how many expenses i've been missing on a week to week basis. After that we created a YNAB account. This is a Great app to get you ready for your first house, child and rest of your life! Mike works with you and really simplifies budgeting so it's easy to understand and he does it for FREE as part of his "Change The World" program. He helps a certain amount of people per year but it would be worth it to reach out and see if he can help you. This would especially be good for First-Time Home Buyers as he will help you understand our true expenses for when you are planning to buy a house.

We chose Mike because we noticed how much he gives back to the community and genuinely cares about others happiness.
