I virtually never post reviews. So why am I breaking precedent now? Because Mike Evans, whom I met after buying a house where he represented the seller, is amazing. Not only was he fair and honest and easy to work with during the purchasing process, but also he has become an absolutely invaluable resource since the close, providing even more information about the house and the neighborhood. More amazing still, Mike has remained in touch (again, he represented the sellers!) and generously shared contact information of vetted professionals such as painters, tree experts etc. who also have been without exception totally satisfying. I had been searching for homes online through a few different websites for several months before deciding what features I really wanted. Then I started seriously looking for a new house, but each time I found one I wanted to see, I arrived too late, and homes I was interested in were already under contract by the time I saw them. After the last one, I contacted the listed realtor, Mike Evans, and let him know I was interested if the current contract fell through. He asked what I was looking for and I described the research I had done and the issue I was running into with not finding the listings soon enough. I ended up signing up with Mike and in little more than a month I had found and closed on my new home. Mike helped me find listings that matched my requirements, arranged walk-throughs, and recommended the mortgage company and home inspector I used. After closing, Mike continued to support me by recommending local electricians, plumbers, lock smiths, and painters that helped me modify and update the house. As first time homebuyers in the unusual 2020 market, this past year has been an experience. We consider ourselves lucky to have had Mike advising and representing us as a buyer’s agent. He has a ton of knowledge about how houses & their various systems are built & age. Mike puts effort & thought into evaluating each house, and is frank when he thinks a property is not a good choice. We found his insights to be invaluable, especially in a difficult market where making “as is” offers is commonplace.

The biggest reason we recommend Mike so highly is that he consistently advised & advocated for what was best for our family regardless of alignment with his interests throughout a long search. You learn a lot about a realtor from reviews of clients who bought a house, but I think you can learn a lot more from the clients that do not. Words cannot express how grateful we are to have found Mike. With another baby due, my wife and I had quickly outgrown our townhome. We had been talking for years about buying our forever home but never thought it would be during one of the craziest and most stressful housing markets of our time. To say we had high hopes and expectations for this home purchase would be an understatement. In ways I didn't think possible Mike exceeded those expectations with flying colors.

Mike is extremely responsive, enthusiastic, and prideful in his work and relationships. But what truly sets him apart is his knowledge base, resources, and his genuine care for his clients. Mike's prior experience as a homebuilder proved extremely helpful when looking at homes by being able to identify the little things (both good and bad) that would otherwise go unnoticed to the untrained eye. His reach also extends beyond just buying or selling a home - even after we closed on our home he's continued to be a trusted resource to us for many things outside the normal buying/closing process. We had the pleasure to work with Mike for the sale of our family home. My brothers and I owned a home in Columbia that had been in our family since the 1970s.

Over the years we had try to sell the home and had listed the property with one of the “Top selling agents” in Maryland. Despite using an agent who had the reputation for being highly successful he and his team were not able to sell the home.

We have known mike since attending high school with him in the early 80s. Mike made contact with my brother and mentioned that he was a real estate agent. My brothers and I chose to use Mike As the agent for the listing.

We are happy to report that the home was sold. Mike was extremely responsive, professional and made extraordinary efforts to make sure that the sale went to closing.

Selling the home we lived in for 33 years was an emotional process but Mike made the journey effortless.
