In summary, if you want a realtor who knows his craft and does what a realtor should on your behalf, Mike Evans is your man.

Mike's prompt and straightforward communication was what won us over initially and continued throughout the home buying process. He took time to get to know our home preferences and was quick to offer advice regarding the state of various houses we considered. I was able to rely on his experience and candid opinion many times. He was consistently available in short order to answer questions.

Mike only had to write one offer for us. When the sellers accepted (<36 hours later), he had already lined up the title company and inspections. All we had to do was call to confirm them. When I reached out to talk over inspection results, Mike was already running down the red flags via every avenue. This included his own investigation (calling county offices to learn what he could about the well depth for example) and calling upon his contractors to weigh in (as when he diagnosed a water pressure issue with the help of his chosen plumber). Should any of these red flags have been unresolvable or hugely expensive to fix, I have no doubt that Mike would have accurately assessed the situation and told us directly. As it is, we had a reasonable idea of what the house needed (and roughly when it would need it) before we moved in. Using that information and his guidance, we were able to negotiate some things ahead of time, and a little credit to do some others later.

The last thing I'll add is that Mike Evans clearly takes pride in his work. He doesn't have unhappy clients and he's not shy about letting you know it! As such, he will probably ask if you've read his reviews. Honestly, I think he's earned that.

I have bought and sold numerous properties in Maryland. I highly recommend Mike Evans as the most competent, resourceful and ethical realtor I have ever used. He listed my property and was invaluable in helping me find an attorney to clear up issues relating to the Home Owners Association which had been created years previously. He patiently explained issues related to marketing land in Howard County which were new to me. He recommended other professionals to survey, mow, and otherwise show the property to its best. Then I started seriously looking for a new house, but each time I found one I wanted to see, I arrived too late, and homes I was interested in were already under contract by the time I saw them. My husband and I had a lot that we wished to sell for 2 years. We resisted using a realtor all that time. Mike saw our sign on the road and contacted us. He assured us that he would have no trouble selling our lot. We still resisted. Mike was persistent and we finally said yes. We signed on a Monday. Mike put the sign up on Tuesday. He took an Ariel on Wednesday. He brought clients to see the property on Thursday and on Friday they signed a contract. Mike is very easy to work with and of course very knowledgeable about real-estate in our area. Because of his persistence, we have a new friend and lovely new neighbors. Thank you Mike..

As first time homebuyers in the unusual 2020 market, this past year has been an experience. We consider ourselves lucky to have had Mike advising and representing us as a buyer’s agent. He has a ton of knowledge about how houses & their various systems are built & age. Mike puts effort & thought into evaluating each house, and is frank when he thinks a property is not a good choice. We found his insights to be invaluable, especially in a difficult market where making “as is” offers is commonplace.

The biggest reason we recommend Mike so highly is that he consistently advised & advocated for what was best for our family regardless of alignment with his interests throughout a long search. You learn a lot about a realtor from reviews of clients who bought a house, but I think you can learn a lot more from the clients that do not. We wrote this review thinking we might be in the latter group, but having just closed today we can instead say thank you for helping us find the right home.

Words cannot express how grateful we are to have found Mike. With another baby due, my wife and I had quickly outgrown our townhome. We had been talking for years about buying our forever home but never thought it would be during one of the craziest and most stressful housing markets of our time. To say we had high hopes and expectations for this home purchase would be an understatement. In ways I didn't think possible Mike exceeded those expectations with flying colors.

Mike is extremely responsive, enthusiastic, and prideful in his work and relationships. But what truly sets him apart is his knowledge base, resources, and his genuine care for his clients. Mike's prior experience as a homebuilder proved extremely helpful when looking at homes by being able to identify the little things (both good and bad) that would otherwise go unnoticed to the untrained eye. His reach also extends beyond just buying or selling a home - even after we closed on our home he's continued to be a trusted resource to us for many things outside the normal buying/closing process. It's that level of ongoing support and care that - above all - shows you where his heart is.

With such an amazing reputation, Mike was at the top of my list to help with my home purchase. Unfortunately, he is not licensed in Delaware so was unable to represent me for the purchase of a house in Rehoboth. However, he provided so much advice to me about my relatively unique/difficult situation that it made what I'm convinced would otherwise have been such a stressful situation infinitely better. We had the pleasure to work with Mike for the sale of our family home. My brothers and I owned a home in Columbia that had been in our family since the 1970s.

Over the years we had try to sell the home and had listed the property with one of the “Top selling agents” in Maryland. Despite using an agent who had the reputation for being highly successful he and his team were not able to sell the home.

We have known mike since attending high school with him in the early 80s. Mike made contact with my brother and mentioned that he was a real estate agent. My brothers and I chose to use Mike As the agent for the listing.

We are happy to report that the home was sold. Mike was extremely responsive, professional and made extraordinary efforts to make sure that the sale went to closing.

Selling the home we lived in for 33 years was an emotional process but Mike made the journey effortless. He was extremely professional while also providing a “connection” to us that immediately confirmed we had chosen the right agent to list our home.
