About Mike
Mike grew up on an acreage south of Arlington, SD, graduated from Arlington High School, and attended South Dakota State University for a semester before pursuing a career in marketing and sales.
He brings extensive experience from his time as a licensed insurance agent and from working at TV Productions of Brookings, where he sold ads to local and regional businesses, then taking a position to work for Midcontinent Communications when they took over local TV advertising.
In 2006, Mike was offered a position by an advertising client and went to work for Ohm’s Appliance Center, selling and repairing appliances. Five years later, Mike and his wife, Tanya, purchased Ohm’s Appliance from Kevin and Dori Ohm, running the business for 13 years. In 2024, they had the opportunity to sell the business to a long-time employee and decided the time was right to explore new opportunities.
Mike and Tanya have two adult children and are proud to call Brookings home. In his spare time, Mike coaches the Brookings Special Olympics teams, teaches Tae Kwon Do, and has played across the state with the bands Probable Cause and White Creek.
Mike is excited to continue working with the Brookings community, utilizing his marketing experience and the great relationships he has built over the years to help clients buy or sell their homes.
