I began my career in the real estate and housing industry in the year of 1996, when I began working at Fairbanks Title Agency in Fairbanks, Alaska. There, I learned about title insurance and all documents that were necessary for closing in real estate. During my time working there, I was also a notary public. I enjoyed my almost five years there, but after the birth of my third child, I remained home to raise a family for a period.

The military then moved us to Louisiana. After my husband finished his service, he got his contractor’s license and opened a home remodeling business, which I helped run while working at home, now blessed with our fourth and final child. This helped expand my knowledge in the construction industry. We are a veteran family and appreciate the challenges and needs that come when moving and relocating due to military service.

I later accepted a position with a local property manager as an assistant manager for one of their communities. I was subsequently promoted to Property Manager, District Manager, Regional Manager, Affordable Portfolio Manager and finally Regional Vice President. After working in a corporate position for 9 years, I earned my Real Estate License and chose to leave the company to work selling real estate with EXIT Real Estate. I also made myself available for consulting in property management and NSPIRE multi-family inspections for HUD, opening Compass Property Specialists, LLC. After four years, I was able to obtain my Brokers license and opened my own Real Estate and Property Management Company. I have been blessed with the opportunity to expand into public speaking, consulting and educational areas of multi-family inspections and management.
With over 25 years in the housing industry in various forms, my certifications include: Tax Credit Specialist (TCS), Certified Occupancy Specialist Masters (COSM), Certified Apartment Manager (CAM), as well as yearly certifications in RD inspection, fair housing, Real Estate Broker through LREC and most recently PIH-REAC certification.
