As first-time homebuyers, we needed someone who could do more than show us homes; we needed an agent who truly represented us and our interests by guiding us through every step of the process. And, having just relocated from another state, we needed someone we could depend on. We spoke with a number of other agents in the area, before deciding to work with Patty, and we could not have made a better choice in an agent. In addition to being very knowledgeable, honest and conscientious, professional and patient, understanding and genuine (and the list goes on!), Patty was very responsive, willing to work around a somewhat inflexible schedule, and an absolute pleasure to work with. Where others would have been hard-pressed, she was there. On one occasion, late into the evening of seeing our home for the second time, we decided we wanted to put an offer in. We learned the hard way that if you sleep on it, you won't be sleeping in it. We spoke with Patty prior to putting our house on the market and she assured us we had done all the right things and it would show well and sell quickly. She lead us through the process and explained every detail and answered every question we had. Once we listed it, it sold the first week, and we had to find a home to move into very quickly. She was always available to us any time of day for questions, and was able to schedule many showings whenever we could fit them into our schedule. It was as if we were her only clients, although we know she was very much in demand, as the market had much activity during the spring of 2013! In each house we viewed, Patty analyzed it from the perspective of potentially having to re-sell the same property in the future, and in a different, more difficult, market. To reach a decision on a house it took us almost two weeks of property browsing, then another month and half of negotiations She was my agent as a buyer, She negotiated on my behalf to get the best deal as if she is my sister. She was very helpful, she even done me a favor by dropping my wife to the airport after a short trip to see the house. Even when she was on vacation she was there through skype video to be with us in our last house tour and the closing. And even then she negotiated for stains on the carpets to be reimbursed for. I worked with Patty for about a year and a half trying to find the house for us. She was always extremely responsive and patient with us which we appreciated in a huge way. She would show us houses first thing in the morning or after dark with ice on the ground. Right off the bat the thing we noticed about Patty is that she didn't try to sell us anything. She would point out the good and the bad in a home and seemed to really want us to make the best choice for us. At one point a home that we liked and wanted to put an offer on stated they would not work with realtors. Patty was completely supportive of us doing that and therefore foregoing her commission. We decided against it because we felt she more than deserved our loyalty. I would recommend Patty to anyone looking for a home!

We found a home under construction online that we wanted to purchase and hired Patty to help us through the process. It turned out that the builder agent was very difficult to work with and Patty was amazing. She basically did much of the builder agent's job and kept things on track with our home as it was being built. She knew important questions to ask and important requests to make. The building process became very stressful due to the builder agent's lack of organization resulting in delays but Patty was supportive and helpful every step of the way. I do tend to stress out about things and Patty was always patient, kind, and provided tons of helpful information about what to expect, even in uncertain circumstances. She was always happy to answer my questions and to provide insights. She even negotiated that the builder would pay for our rate lock extension fee when the builder delayed the closing. It sounds like that is incredibly rare in the home building world. Ah, unless you have Patty McLaughlin on your side! Patty really cares about you and wants you to be happy. She clearly works hard to not only get you a good deal but also to help you to understand everything that is happening and to help you to feel comfortable and not stressed throughout the process.
