Paul was born in Hillsdale, Michigan and has lived in Middletown, Ohio since 1967. He is a graduate of Middletown High School and attended Miami University. He and his wife Beverly have been married for 48 years and they have a son Branden, wife Lori and two grandchildren, Dylan and Anna. They are members of the Crosspointe Church of Christ.
