About Rachel
During the hardest time of Rachel’s life, she let her passion for people guide her and kept moving forward. Through it all, she learned a valuable lesson about family, community and helping others.
Growing up, her family moved around a lot. They are originally from Tennessee, but they moved to Riyadh, Saudi Arabia in 1986. Schools in Saudi Arabia only went through the 9th grade, so in 10th grade she went to boarding school in Switzerland. She really wanted to go to school in the States at that time, but one day her grandmother said, “Rachel, are you really going to choose Georgia over Switzerland?!?!” Moving around gave her a new perspective on the world and an understanding of so many different nationalities, but it also made it clear that she did not have roots.
It was 1991 when she went to school for cosmetology in Denver. She knew what she wanted to do since she was 5 years old, she loved what she was learning, but still found it incredibly hard being continents away from her family. They talked on the phone, but the time difference made it very difficult (and it was expensive), she missed them terribly. Becoming a hairdresser was so important to her because she loves helping people and forming genuine connections with them. That motivation got her through what was the hardest time of her life.
In the summer of 1992, her twin brothers and mother moved to Atlanta for the summer. She was so excited that her family was finally back in the states, so she joined them. It meant the world to her to have them close again. Fortunately, her mother decided to stay in Atlanta, and she did as well. She was able to put down roots and truly feel like a part of the community.
Over the years, her career as a hairstylist was very successful, but her passion for real estate gradually became more prominent in her life. She would often look at homes for sale even though she was not planning on moving any time soon. She would then tell her clients of a house she saw for sale; she would refer a REALTOR® she knew that could help them or give interior design advice. She reached a point in 2017 where she needed a change because of health reasons. It seemed like the perfect time to pursue her passion for real estate as a career.
When she got her REALTOR® license, she was still helping people, but in an even bigger way. Helping people see the potential in a home and then guiding them through the process of achieving their vision is so rewarding. It can be difficult to envision yourself in a space that needs to be updated but her creative side is very strong, and she loves helping clients realize what is possible. Because of this, staging has become one of her specialties, it allows her to show her clients how design can completely change a space and make it feel like home.
After 30 years, she still lives in suburban Atlanta with her family. She is in love with the area and community, and she thinks it is an honor to help others put down roots here as well. When she is not working, she enjoys being outside, spending time with her husband and 5 kids, their two dogs (Ruby and Rip) and doing endless DIY projects in their home. Throughout her journey, she has realized that she can overcome any challenge in pursuit of her one true passion: helping people.
As a REALTOR®, it is her priority to help you reach your goals and guide you through the entirety of the buying or selling process. She takes the time to get to know her clients and determine their exact vision. When you work with her, you know you will have her full support through the entire transaction.
