I have sold residential real estate for a couple of decades now and have been the primary broker for York Realty for 19 years. It suits me well: I have always had a passion for architecture and design, I have built my own home from plan to swinging the hammer and have rehabbed many vintage homes including the one that Loretta and I live in now. When we vacation, most of our time is spent exploring local architecture. We own income property and manage some 46 properties. I know buildings from the inside out and recognize opportunity and value. And I get great pleasure from landing the right family in just the right property. I office in my home, so the line between business and life is relatively undefined. Real estate is what I do, and who I am.
I have also served as Chair of the Orono Planning Commission and I am a founding member of The Navarre Community Initiative, a Lake Minnetonka volunteer group working toward creating a more inviting and pedestrian / bike friendly neighborhood at the crossroads of Lake Minnetonka.
PS - If you happen to find a degrading internet post by Tom Evenstad, I take great pride in being one of his chosen targets, along with Amy Klobuchar, Sheriff Richard Stanek, 4 state judges and Governor Dayton. Evenstad gained fame as the "Craigs List Rapist", for which he spent 8 years in St Cloud State Prison. I had the misfortune to sell a property to his then girlfriend - He was never a principal in the transaction - and I was then finally instrumental in helping her evict him from her property and then getting a restraining order against him (A scarey time for both her and me.) Since that episode he has been confined again in locked facilities at St Peter State Hospital, but is now apparently free . It is an honor to have been instrumental in limiting Evenstad's abuse. His postings have stained my public image. But I wear this stain proudly and only regret that he is once again amongst us. Google - Tom Evenstad.
