About Richard

Richard Machado founded Hawthorn Commercial Investments - The Buyer’s Agent in 1986, a commercial buyer agency firm which later evolved into Fidelis, The Buyer’s Agent, a commercial and residential agency. The firm has been practicing exclusive buyer agency in the Greater New Bedford area since 1990.

Richard was appointed by Governor William Weld to the Massachusetts Real Estate Review Board in 1991, the youngest person ever to hold that prestigious position. He continued to serve with distinction in that paid consultancy through the year 2000.

A strong personal belief of Richard’s has been in fostering the education of our nation’s youth. To that end, he has served with distinction as a director of Junior Achievement of Southeastern Massachusetts since 1991. In 1996, he was elected Chairman of the Board of that organization in recognition of his achievements and continued to serve in that position through 1997.
