About Rodney

Rodney Dotson, a member of The Mitchell Team of Monument Sotheby's Realty, is a dynamic real estate professional with a true passion for helping his clients experience exceptional service when buying or selling real estate. He has extensive knowledge of Baltimore and its surrounding suburbs. Rodney grew up in the inner city of Baltimore. Although raised with humble beginnings, family and faith guided him to overcome surrounding barriers and become successful. Rodney is a graduate of Morgan State University with a B.S. in Business Administration. Shortly after college, Rodney entered the real estate industry. This was a priority to him because he understood its link to generational wealth and how his acumen could be used to help his community. Before college, Rodney spent his time chasing his dreams in an R&B Boy Band called Nuance; in which he toured many countries in Europe. There he gained an appreciation for the connection between art and architecture.

Currently, Rodney is an advocate for Fair Housing in the real estate industry and sits on the Equal Opportunity Committee of the Greater Baltimore Board of Realtors (GBBR). He is also a member of the GBBR Board of Directors. Over Rodney's real estate career, he has helped a great many clients reach their real estate goals. From families that need to sell and upgrade for more space to high-end clients that love exclusive properties and appreciate a concierge experience. Often, Rodney's professional opinion is sought after by community leaders and developers regarding real estate. Rodney appeared on The Real Housewives of Potomac (2019).

Most recently, Rodney became a member of B.L.A.C (Black, Luxury Agent Collective) an affinity group of Sotheby's International Realty (SIR) whose mission is to engage, support, and encourage the SIR brand’s Black agents in our community by fostering collaborative relationships, establishing influence, and building a network that advances the understanding multiple realms of real estate. Rodney holds distinctive certifications as a Seller Representative Specialist and Certified Negotiation Expert, but most importantly a winning attitude.
