Rom Hirss

Rom is a co-founding broker of the Bellingham Compass office and is in the top 1% of sales volume in Whatcom County with his business partner and twin brother, Galen Hirss.

Raised in the Pacific Northwest (in a unique upbringing on Lopez Island and Steven's Pass), Rom understands exactly what draws people to our special seaside and outdoorsy town. His loyalty, integrity and work ethic have cemented him firmly inside of Bellingham's real estate network.

Rom believes real estate is a relationship-based business. Getting to know and understand every one of his clients on a personal level so he can help them reach their goals. His business is built on his reputation, he is honest, responsive, and patient.

Rom built custom homes in the San Juan Islands, Aspen, CO, and Hawaii before moving back to Bellingham. Building custom homes has given Rom a deep understanding of how a home works. Having extensive knowledge of a home has benefited his buyers when walking through a home to determine what might be potential issues in the future, how to fix them and what it might cost. Sellers also benefit from his knowledge and industry relationships when preparing a home for the market.

When Rom is not selling real estate, you can find him skiing in the Baker Backcountry, hiking, biking, golfing, or enjoying many of the other outdoor activities Bellingham has to offer. Rom lives on the South side of Bellingham, in Fairhaven. He loves the quaint little village, all the shops, restaurants and walks it has to offer.
