About Ron
Originally discovering Reynolds Lake Oconee while a student at Georgia Southern University, Ron Kalpak came for a weekend with friends and left attached to the area. A collegiate tennis player, he returned later that year for the opportunity to become the first Head Tennis Professional for the burgeoning Reynolds community. A lesson with one of the real estate executives led to a job with the Reynolds Lake Oconee Properties team, and Ron has been here ever since. He will soon celebrate his 27th anniversary as a Sales Executive at Reynolds Lake Oconee.
Tennis is still a huge passion for Ron. Continuing to play the game at a 4.5 level, he is an active participant in the tennis programs and tournaments at Reynolds, as well as LOTA (Lake Oconee Tennis Association). He has also helped form the Tennis Club at Lake Oconee Academy. There, he coaches his youngest daughter, Love. Proving the apple doesn’t fall far from the tree, she is currently the No. 1 female player in the club.
Another huge passion for Ron is fishing. A deep knowledge of the local waters has led to multiple Reynolds Bass Tournament victories, including the record for the largest one-day catch in tournament history — 20.5 pounds! He may even tell you where to find the richest honey holes on Lake Oconee, so you can catch some bass yourself. Quite possibly his favorite spot on the lake is where he proposed to Heidi, the catch of his life! He calls it “proposal point.”
For Ron, a self-proclaimed “big foodie,” few afternoons are better spent than cooking on one of his four grills or smokers. Ribs, chicken, salmon, steak — if it can be put on a grill or smoker, Ron can cook it. Flanked by his awesome wife and daughters, Niah and Love, there is no place Ron would rather be.
