About Ruxton

Ruxton is a native of Henderson NC; after graduating from Vance Senior High School, he attended Campbell University for 4 years where he graduated with a BS in business administration. After a brief banking career with the former NCNB Bank in Greensboro, he returned to his hometown and immediately began work on the NC real estate license requirements receiving his NC salesman’s license in 1988, after two years in sales and additional class time he passed and received his NC broker’s license. Ruxton served as Broker in Charge of John M. Foster Real Estate for several years as he transitioned into developing residential subdivisions which took him away from traditional listing and sales of existing homes and closed the John Foster office. At that time, developing subdivisions became his focus while working from a retail sales lot managing John Foster Homes, a family business engaged in the sale of manufactured and modular homes from 1997 until just recently closing the business in July of 2018.

Ruxton has been active as a buyer’s agent through Bobbitt Real Estate Services since 2016. He is excited to join a knowledgeable team of brokers with Coldwell Banker Advantage as he transitions his sales career with a full-service agency once again.
Locally, Ruxton is a member of First Baptist Church Henderson. He serves on both the City of Henderson and Vance County Board of Adjustments and is a member of the Henderson Vance Economic Development Commission. He is married to his wife of 32 years, Karen Foster Bobbitt. They have three wonderful daughters Madison, 22, Clara, 19, and Margaret, 17.
