Originally from Albany, New York, Ryan is a graduate of The University of Wisconsin-Oshkosh and a long-time resident of the great city of Madison. He enjoys spending time with family and friends and taking advantage of all that Madison has to offer in the arts, dining out, athletic events, and year-round outdoor activities. In the summer, he can be found hiking or biking on Madison’s fantastic public trail system, and the winter takes him to ski areas for snowboarding. Ryan is a passionate amateur photographer, so you may see him around town capturing the beauty of our city through his lens. Some of his photos can be seen on his photography website. On the weekends he likes to get outside with his big, friendly, 4-year-old Doberman, Ollie. When Ryan’s schedule allows, he travels to places near and far. He has recently taken trips to majestic Alaska, to Arizona for its desert landscapes and hiking trails, and to Utah for its unmatched mountain powder and gorgeous national parks. As a lover of music, Ryan takes opportunities to hear his favorite bands when they come to town, and of course, he is a huge Wisconsin football fan.
Ryan cares a great deal about his Madison community, and he volunteers locally as a board member at the University’s Carbone Cancer Center. He has recently extended his volunteer work internationally with a group called Healing Haiti. This wonderful humanitarian organization has allowed him the opportunity to give his time and financial support to the poorest and most devastated country in the Western Hemisphere. Ryan’s work in Haiti has included delivering water and food to those in need, and volunteering in orphanages and elderly care centers.
