About Scott

Hello, his name is Scott Film and he is the Broker/Owner of Scott Film Realty. He grew up in the Brunswick area of Rensselaer County and attended Hudson Valley Community College where he took Banking, Insurance, & Real Estate, and attended SUNY Albany where he received a Bachelor's Degree in Finance.

He entered the real estate field in 1987 where he held a broker's license until 1995 with the largest real estate company in the Capital District, performing all aspects of the real estate profession. In his first year in business, he became the "rookie of the year" for his office, producing more business than any other new agent. He had desires to own his own company, but he saw a lack of real estate financing knowledge in the industry as a whole, so in 1992, he became a mortgage consultant for M&T Bank and learned every aspect of real estate financing from 1992 - 1995. In 1995, he left the real estate company and the bank to form a real estate partnership. On January 1, 2000, he started Scott Film Realty.

In his opinion, customer service is not a department. It is his overall philosophy. He services his customers the way he would like to be serviced. Owning his own company has enabled him to provide better service because he has the ability and complete control on how to best market a property and get it sold quickly and for the most money, which is the ultimate goal in the real estate selling process.

For people looking to purchase a property, he offers Buyer Brokerage representation. This comes with the same great service, but now he is working as a buyer's agent, finding them the best property for the least price possible.

As can be seen just by being on the internet and viewing his website, technology is changing everything, and the real estate industry has benefited greatly from new technology advances. In addition to using this website, he uses e-mail, advanced home brochures, digital photography, and "talking house machines" to market the properties that he lists.

All of this is great, but now is decision time. The first decision to make is whether to really buy or sell a property. The next decision is who to choose as an agent to help achieve this goal.
