About Scott

Scott began his real estate career in 2008 with Coldwell Banker in Estes Park, following a successful 25-year career as a Chief Financial Officer in Greeley, Colorado. In 2019, he received a sales award representing the top 1% of all representatives worldwide in the Coldwell Banker network. Since 2015, he was continuously in the top 6% of all Coldwell Banker associates. While it is nice to receive recognition for his hard work, it is more important that his friends and clients consider him honest, trustworthy, dependable, and always looking out for their best interests.

Beginning January 1, 2021, Scott established The Thompson Group and transferred his license to Keller Williams Realty Partners, LLC. As the Rainmaker of this team, he is enjoying mentoring agents that are new to the profession and giving them the tools to reach their fullest potential. Their office is in Estes Park, Colorado, considered the Gateway to Rocky Mountain National Park.

Why Estes Park? Scott is a third-generation Colorado native, born in Denver and raised in Fort Morgan. His grandparents purchased property in Estes Park in the mid-60s, and the cabin is still in the family. His wife’s parents have been full-time residents of Estes Park since 1979. They live, work, and invest in the community, including involvement at Summit Church and The Rotary Club of Estes Park, where their “Service Above Self” motto serves as a guide in his career and life in general.

Scott holds a BS in Business Administration, with an emphasis in accounting, from the University of Northern Colorado. His wife, Karen, and he married in 1983. They have two lovely daughters and two golden retrievers. Kellie lives in Denver. Shannon and our son-in-law Brad live in Marietta, Ohio. Cody and Hunter are littermates and love going for long walks in the Colorado mountains.

With over a decade of service to clients in the Estes Valley, Scott’s biggest joy has been the life-long friendships he has gained along the way.

Great person and realtor. Scott knows the Estes Park area very well and that knowledge really helps when reviewing properties in the area. Scott is extremely caring and wants the best for his clients and their families.

Scott Thompson was recommended to me by two different friends, so I knew that he would be conscientious and competent. He was certainly that, and so much more. Not only did he take care of all the details of selling my home, he did everything in his power to make my transition from homeowner to senior living resident as smooth and easy as possible. I am very pleased with the way he handled the sale of my home and I can recommend him without reservation to anyone who is looking for a top notch realtor and a genuinely good person.

Scott sold us the cabin about 10 years ago and we enjoyed it until my husband passed away. I needed to move closer to family so I called Scott. He was great and even got the cabin sold in the middle of wildfire evacuation. I can’t thank him enough for helping me through this emotional and trying time!
