Served the Melissa Industrial and Economic Development Board for seven years, also elected by the citizens of Melissa as Councilwoman and volunteered for the Melissa Independent School District. A graduate of the North Collin County Leadership Program and served on the NCCLP Executive Committee.

A seven-year volunteer for North Collin County Habitat for Humanity (NCCH4H), Also certified as a Lead Builder through Habitat International. Served as Chairman of Taste of Collin County, NCCH4H's most successful fundraising event. Dedicated to Habitat's vision to eliminate poverty housing worldwide. Selected by peers to participate in the Capital Campaign to help the organization grow to its fullest potential and served on the Board of Directors.

For more than 15 years, worked as a technical trainer within the Information Technology field training Partners and managers within a leading accounting firm. Received accolades as “Most Requested Trainer.”

Together with Mark, husband of 24 years, helped build several homes as well as a successful custom swimming pool construction business. One of the creations landed a nomination as a finalist in the “Masters of Design” competition published in a national trade magazine. Three children – Jacob, age 23; Nikolaus, age 21, and Sarah, age 19.
