Shawn Lake

Shawn Lake has enjoyed real estate for 15 years. Prior to being a real estate professional, Shawn and her husband, Ben Lake, purchased investment properties in Council Bluffs which they rehabbed, rented out, and then Shawn enjoys managing them. Shawn also assists her husband Ben as they build Craftsman style homes, under Ben Lake Homes and Remodeling. These homes are tucked throughout Council Bluffs, sometimes blending in with the original homes in the neighborhood so well you can't tell they are new construction. The couple focuses on handcrafted woodwork, moldings, banisters, balusters, and other Craftsman period style features. This background combined with a BS in Sociology and Women's Studies has enabled Shawn to excel in all areas of residential home sales, management, and home building. Shawn is a native of Council Bluffs, making her uniquely qualified to specialize in the sale of properties in the Pottawattamie County area. She enjoys all areas of real estate and can guide the investor through the process of buying and managing an investment property. She will help a client from start to finish in the building of their dream home. She will find the property that exactly fits the buyer and help guide them through any rehab changes they may need. She especially enjoys listing a property and advertising it in diverse ways. Shawn believes that having a balanced life is key to being a successful professional. When she is not helping her clients buy and sell homes, she enjoys spending time with her husband of 18 years and their 5 children. She has also taught piano to local children for 15 years and has them perform several times during the school year for those is nursing homes throughout the city. She is the organist for her church every Sunday. She enjoys dirt bike riding with her boys and spending time with the many rams, goats, chickens, and quail they have on their acreage.
