Shelley Scarborough has a B.A. in Art, Business and Communication, worked for 15 years as an art dealer and gallerist, and worked with legal issues as an Equal Employment Opportunity Commission Investigator before moving to Silver City. She appreciates the open, accepting environment of the town, and the community’s support for the arts. She loves working in the world of real estate, and she finds that each day is rich and different. Optimism is part of who she is, and she believes the real estate process, while challenging, can and should be fun! Meeting new people and helping them connect to home is the most exciting opportunity she has had professionally.
Shelley has bought, sold, and renovated homes from Texas to Portland, Oregon, to the Black Hills of South Dakota, and has finally come home to Silver City. This part of New Mexico is truly magical and a beautiful place to live. Finding what each house has to offer, seeing its possibilities and bringing those to fruition is very rewarding. That is why she has remodeled every house she’s ever owned! Her experiences as a homeowner and with renovations helps her understand how you feel as a buyer or a seller and enables her to guide you through the often-complicated issues associated with real estate transactions.
Shelley and her husband moved to Silver City so he could continue his teaching career at Western New Mexico University. They enjoy trips into the Gila Wilderness, local concerts, community involvement, and all things New Mexican. With family and friends in other states who visit often, they try to discover new local activities to share whenever possible.
Home should be a refuge as well as a gathering place for loved ones. She feels privileged to be able to develop close relationships with clients and support them as they navigate the local real estate market, or as they evaluate the market to sell their homes. She works hard to see that each customer is satisfied and confident that he or she has found the right home or sold a home at the right price.
