About Sheri

Hi, I’m Sheri McCarthy, and I am going to help you navigate the often difficult and sometimes turbulent waters of the real estate transaction! With a background as a Master Occupational Therapist and rescue diver, I am well equipped for challenge, and am committed to providing my clients with the expertise and extensive knowledge that I have gained through decades of experience.



I hailed from the Great Northwest - Oregon and Idaho – before relocating to Upstate New York to attend the Russell Sage College. After receiving my masters in Occupational Therapy, I worked in healthcare as a Pediatric OT, a very exacting and rewarding field. The rewards were hard-fought to win, and required sharp communication skills, specifically the ability to the listen and understand the non-verbal communications of many of the patients - children with amazing courage - who came to me for therapy. In return, I provided them with encouragement, support, and confidence to triumph over their changing and challenging worlds. It was work that prepared me to meet the specific individual needs of my real estate clientele.



An adventurous life, in rescuing diving and the music industry, has prepared me for the landscape of the real estate business. I was most fortunate to have enjoyed a great deal of travel, and learned about human connection from time spent with other people and cultures. Through the art of active listening, I developed critical thinking and problem-solving skills. My ability to thrive in these fast-paced environments allowed me to think on my feet, often outside of the box, and successfully “make it happen” for each individual client.



I found my way to the great Adirondack Region, where I fell in with a group of artists and builders rehabbing some grand old houses: Voila, my love of real estate was born!
