About Sonja
My Client-First Philosophy
There are many qualities and skills that go into being an excellent real estate professional – integrity, in-depth community and market knowledge, marketing savvy, effective negotiation skills and a high-quality professional network, all of which are hallmarks of how I work. That said, in my experience as a Cookeville real estate professional (2000+ negotiations comprised of listings agreements, sales agreements, and closings), I’ve also found that providing the very best service is essentially about putting my clients first. This means keeping myself accessible, being a good listener as well as a good communicator, and responding quickly to your needs. This “client first” philosophy has always been my approach and it requires me to continually improve my skills and ways of doing business. In addition, I’ve found that the latest technologies are enabling me to do everything I’ve always done, only much more quickly and efficiently. They’ve also helped me to extend the range of services I provide to my clients. So when you decide that you’d like to buy or sell a home in the Cookeville, Upper Cumberland, and Middle TN areas, please contact me.
Personal Info
I am a Tennessee Tech University graduate (B.S. in Marketing, 1986 and M.B.A., 1993). After getting my undergraduate degree, I worked in sales for Frito-Lay in Knoxville, TN. I decided to return to Tech for my Master’s degree mainly because I liked Cookeville and enjoyed living here as an undergraduate. While working on my M.B.A., I worked part-time for Pepsi-Cola doing marketing audits in Middle Tennessee. Later, I went on to work full-time for consumer products giant, Phillip Morris. I met my husband while working on my M.B.A. and helped him grow his real estate development business, Brown Properties, Inc. I have worked on subdivisions such as White Plains Plantation & Golf Course (all 12 phases), Country Club Place, The Fairways, South Meade, Wyndemere, Lake Pointe (all 4 phases), Fisk Park, Cambridge, Capshaw Woods – Phase F, Lindenwood, Huntington Woods (all 3 phases), Colonial Heights, South Pointe, The Farms at South Pointe, Plantation Heights, Plantation Court, Park West (all 3 phases), Brookstone (all 6 phases), Farmington Woods, Oaklawn Place, Heathwood, Heathwood West, Copperfield, The Overlook, The Pointe at The Overlook, Bear Lake, The Highlands at Bear Creek and Foxborough.
In addition to residential real estate development and sales, I have also developed industrial property such as, The Hub Industrial Park. I have worked to bring companies such as Wallboard Supply, Inc., U.P.S., FedEx, and Conner Brothers Wood Flooring to the city of Algood. Being involved in the many facets of real estate has afforded me the opportunity to be involved in commercial development and sales, as well. Working with Applebee’s, Red Lobster, and Fazolis was an educational experience into the world of commercial real estate. In addition to real estate development and sales, I have built more than 100 homes in subdivisions such as White Plains Plantation & Golf Course, Brookstone, Park West, The Overlook, The Pointe at The Overlook, Farmington Woods, Foxborough, MidTowne Place, and Copperfield (build out). Outside of real estate, I enjoy gardening, hiking, cycling, kayaking, fishing and watching sports.
