Ron is a realtor I would highly recommend.

We had had an inexperienced realtor for two years with a lot of house contract failures, so we tried to find a good one. From the first time we met Ron, my wife and I loved his gentle demeanor, knowledgeable explanation, and focus on our needs and preferences. After two and a half months of house hunting with him, we finally closed on our home in Arlington Heights.

He was willing to point out the pros and cons of the property we were interested in and try to help us find the best home for our family. If it were not for his caring and knowledgeable advice, we would have rushed to buy a house.

As far as we know, Ron is the best realtor. He knows real estate, has a long history of excellent success rates, and understands his clients' needs and preferences to help them find the best home.

We've used them as both a buyer's agent (twice) and selling agent (three times.) They will support you through all the activities in purchasing your home - finding the house, writing/negotiating the contract, finding a lender, inspector, lawyer, service people, ... They will also provide all the support needed to sell your home in various markets - preparing it for sale, marketing the property, negotiating the contract, overseeing the activities leading up to close, taking you through the closing.

I understand they also provide services to real estate investors.

You can't go wrong with them - they live their business goal to be your realtors for life.

I have never felt more comfortable and confindent in our choice to use Ron, David and Sue to help us during our home buying/selling journey. We were crammed in a 1 bedroom condo with 2 kids and multiple cats and needed out fast, but couldn't go the traditional route of buying and selling at the same time. We had been told previously there was no way to buy unless we move out of our condo and sell first. I used Sue Pickard in 2014 to find and purchase a new home in Mt Prospect and highly recommend her. I know Sue must juggle a lot of clients but you would never know that working with her- I consistently felt I had her undivided attention and when I was ready to see a home she was always quick to act. This is especially noteworthy given I was extremely picky and probably saw around fifty homes (and went through 3 offers) before ultimately closing on my new home. Ron, Susan and the Pickard team go above and beyond! In 2021 we decide to move to IL, relocating from CT. A friend recommended Ron to help find a rental for our family. Ron was able to set up several condos for us to view remotely. He video taped walk throughs, showing us all the ins and outs of the properties. We signed on and moved in. Fast forward 8 months, Ron helped us find our first house, in the neighborhood we wanted. Great real estate agent find !

The Pickard Group at REMAX Suburban is exceptional.

Before considering a real estate agency, I explored other options for selling my condo to save on commissions; such as selling it myself or going with a discount realtor. I came upon Ron Pickard and he was able to provide valuable information to assist me. In the end, my by owner sale didn’t work out so I decided to list the condo with the Pickard Group. I was promised a comprehensive and hassle-free process from pre-listing to the closing.

Ron and the team delivered as promised!

We set a price based on local comparable sales. All paperwork was completed electronically. Marketing drew many prospective buyers to my condo the 1st weekend and secured numerous bids. Ron negotiated on my behalf and we accepted the best offer. Within three weeks, the sale closed.

And sure, I paid a commission. Was it worth it?

Absolutely.

I didn’t have to coordinate any marketing or showings, or check financials of the prospective buyers. I didn’t negotiate with buyers. No paperwork - no hassles.

All I did was spend 10 minutes at the lawyer’s office, arranged by Ron and his team, signing papers. Ron handled everything, including offloading my excess furniture.

Don’t tell Ron this, but between us, I would have paid more.

If you’re looking for a real estate agent who delivers great results, go with Ron & The Pickard Group.

I was linked with the Pickard family through Zillow, completely random and I was very nervous with the basics every first time home buyer would have. Did I get the right realtor? Does he care about what I need? Yadda yadda… within the first time meeting Ron I knew I had someone who truly cared about what I wanted and needed. He pointed out all the bad things in each house, let me know what I’m getting into, didn't sugar coat a thing. We worked with Ron Pickard of the Pickard Group for the purchase of our home. Being newbies to the real estate market, we were so thankful for their help and guidance throughout the entire process. The group is really professional and knowledgeable on all the facets around home buying and what are the do's and don'ts.

Ron was really patient with us and our requirements. We started house hunting in April '20. It wasn't easy because we couldn't leave our young kids home or with baby sitters during the pandemic. So every house that we saw, Ron had to show us twice because me and my wife were alternating (owing to kids being in the car).
After each viewing, Ron would patiently listen to our feedback and worked with our inputs. He also ensured that we stay away from houses which were not in ideal locations and which would be difficult to sell, if and when, we would want to. After losing out on 3 houses (and weeks of seeing houses), we finally found our forever home in July. The closing was in August.

We were helped and guided by Ron and the team at every step. They also helped us with finding a lender who gave us very competitive rates. These were lower than some of the others that we checked on the market.

Pickard group is the complete package. They've been in the real estate market for decades now and they have contacts of electricians, general contractors, home inspectors, etc.
Buying a home can be a daunting task, but we were blessed to have Ron and the team with us. Though it's a business relationship, but that's not how the group works. We've become friends and stay connected even after the closing in August.
Ron also helped us and advised us on home related questions even after the Closing. As I highlighted, we're newbies and this is our first home. So everything has been new to us. Ron spent hours with us explaining the heating, the water and everything else (because we had no clue - we were living in a apartment earlier).

Their website also has clear information and guided path about each stage of the home buying experience.
In short, 5 stars are not enough. We would have given more if possible.

The best! What do you want out of a realtor? Knowledge. Ron and his group is ridiculously knowledgeable about the Chicagoland real estate environment. Knows how to price and offer based on data (not emotion) to always get you the best deal Know-how. He knows the answer to most every question, and if he doesn't he knows who does. Experience. We've used them in two home transactions and would only use them for a home sale or purchase in the Chicagoland area.

Ron and the entire team at the Pickard Group were amazing to work with! We were first time homebuyers and only had basic knowledge of the process, overall. After meeting with Ron for an initial consultation, we knew we had to move forward with the Pickard Group to buy our first home. We primarily worked with Ron, but also had the opportunity to work with David. They're very professional and incredibly knowledgeable! Most importantly, we never felt pressured to make a decision we weren't ready for. Ron was very objective in his opinions and was invested in the right decision for us, and not the sale - from giving us honest feedback on of the homes we looked at, to providing insight into the neighborhood, makeup of the house and work that would need to be put in/or not. He was there to help us make the right decision. Lastly, and perhaps most importantly, we never had any issues with scheduling. Ron even accommodated us last minute several times when a house may have popped up that we were very interested in. We can't say enough good things about our experience with the entire team! We would buy another house just to work with them again :) ha! We would never want to work with another team!

The Pickard group is the best real state agency we have ever encountered. We have worked with them four times: renting, buying, selling, you name it, we have done it all with the Pickards. Every single time they made us feel like we were the only clients they had at the time. They dedicate so much personal time to understand our needs, and they go above and beyond trying to find something that covers almost all our needs. We trust them so much, that we closed the last real state transaction we did with them without ever setting foot on the house. I know it is hard to believe. We were living in Europe for a couple of years, and due to COVID-19, we could not travel back to Illinois to look for a new house. The Pickard Group spent a lot of time with us over video calls, capturing our needs and then helping us with virtual tours of the selected houses. They took care of the inspection, arranged some quick estimates for possible small fixes, arranged the closing to be virtual and more. We set foot on the new house once everything was done, contract signed, and keys in hand. Suffice to say that we love our new home, and we are infinitely thankful to the whole Pickard Group.

What a wonderful experience having the Pickard family help us sell our house. We were under a time crunch because we were buying a home under a contingency with an aggressive timeline and thought we needed to lower our asking price. The Pickard family assured us that we can price high and that it would sell based on their market analysis and expertise in home. We were first time home sellers and we were beyond nervous and didn't want to lose our house that we put an offer on.

We put the house up for sale on a Thursday night and got 5 offers before that following Friday at Noon. We accepted a cash offer that was about 97% of our asking price to meet the deadline but got offers for over 100%.

I would recommend using the Pickard family for all things sales / real estate related.

We found the Pickard Group through Angie’s List. My family was looking for a realtor who could help us determine what needed to be done in order to sell a family member’s condo. We had intended to interview 3 realtors, but when we met Ron, we knew we wouldn’t find anyone more qualified.

The first time we met with Ron, we were several months away from signing a real estate contract, but, nonetheless, Ron went through the condo and provided us with a list of improvements (install granite countertops, install new carpet, remove wallpaper, paint walls, install brushed nickel light fixtures and door/cabinet hardware) that he felt would significantly increase the sales price. Ron also provided us with a list of contractors we could use for any work we were not going to do ourselves. We did use four of the contractors Ron recommended; all of them were reliable, reasonably priced, and flexible in scheduling their work hours so that the remodel could stay on schedule.

The real estate listing was extremely thorough. The interior/exterior photos and, in particular, the virtual tour provided a comprehensive view of the condo.

Ron was always available throughout the selling process. He was in contact by phone, mail, or e-mail at least once a week reporting in on what the office was doing in order to get the condo sold. He was also diligent in monitoring the listing and sales activity on other units in the condo subdivision.

Sue Pickard was incredibly helpful to us when we were looking for our home. She didn't care how long it took to make a sale; she wanted what was best for us. We even walked into a few homes and said "You don't want this one" when she knew, after her almost 30 years of experience as a real estate agent, that the home had problems and would not be worth our time. She treated us like family. If she wouldn't let her family buy the house, she would highly discourage us from doing so as well. She really helped us keep a steady mind as we got giddy about the houses we were looking at.

We ended up in a condo in downtown Arlington Heights. When it came time to write the offer, she was very thorough and wanted to make sure we understood every step of the closing process. She helped us negotiate $7,000 off the listing price! She is worth so much more than what we paid for her.

Now even though the transaction is done, our time together won't be. She still sends us cards for our birthdays and we call her when we want to remodel, since she has her finger on the pulse of what buyers are looking for and knows the most affordable places that will get the job done well. We will be giving her a call again when we want to sell this place, if that ever happens. She really helped us find our perfect home.
