A graduate of Scarsdale High School and the University of Michigan, Susan returned to Scarsdale to raise her two daughters, now also graduates of the Scarsdale Schools. Through them, Susan has become familiar with many of the community's extracurricular activities, ranging from recreational and competitive athletics to musical instruction and various community organizations.

She has been an avid lifelong skier and also enjoys cycling, tennis and playing bridge and mah-jong as well as cooking for friends.
