The house buying process moved very fast for us and they took the time to explain, give next steps, got all the answers we needed, and worked hard to meet the deadlines of the house we chose and to educate us on the process. Their offer strategies set us apart to win in a multiple offer situation with out stressing. Team Freebery was wonderful at every turn from “let’s look at houses” to “OMG this is the one what do we do?!”

Karen is amazing (I realize a lot of people say that, but it is because it is true). She and Steve took care of us from afar, as we were moving from out of state and only had limited opportunities to be in person.

The market was definitely tough post-COVID, but we weren't in a rush, and the Freeberys were completely supportive. We never felt pressured to make an offer on anything we saw but didn't love. Karen was even more critical than we were on some of the places we saw (not in a bad way, but just made sure to point out things we might not have seen or realized may be issues, or didn't align with what we were looking for).

Between Karen and Steve, no message or email went more than a few minutes to a couple hours (with responses even overnight) without at least an initial reply. Any questions we had were thoroughly answered.

When it came time to consider putting in offers, we weren't pushed to go out of our comfort zone, and when we did think about going beyond it, we were gently reminded that there were different options and possibilities to get what we wanted. And we did!

Karen's knowledge of the area is impressive, as well as their network of friendly, helpful, and well-informed professionals. We managed to coordinate inspections and post-closing fixes in a very short turnaround.

Truly, we are so appreciative of the referrals that got us to Karen and Steve, and are happy to send anyone we know their direction for buying or selling a home in the DE/PA area.

The Freeberys were very knowledgeable about the area and they clearly explained the process, provided me with insight into the current market, and were readily available by phone, email, and text to answer any of my questions. When I started my search I had only a vague idea of what I was looking for and there was no pressure from them to find, or when viewing a property, to purchase, a house. They worked at my pace and made the entire process as stress free as possible. We worked with Steve and Karen to sell a Trolley Square property that we'd owned for many years, but now needed to sell while living out of state.
It was a fantastic experience! Steve and Karen showed deep knowledge of the local market, and helped arrange contractors to repair and prepare the property for sale/ They stayed engaged as the work progressed, which was a huge help for us given the distance involved. The contractors they arranged were top notch, and got the place looking its best as we prepared to go to market.
The property got a lot of interest, and a great price point for us, and sold and easily without any hassle and not a lot of haggle.
Steve and Karen continued to keep things smooth and orderly as we went through the sales process, and quickly chased down a problem when there was a post-sale error by one of the attorneys!
Communication was clear, straightforward, and top notch, and we had found that to be a rarity in the Wilmington area real estate market in the last several years.

Steve and Karen are a package deal, while being equally as amazing on their own. The “team” is no gimmick, that’s who they are. They’re as much your realtors as they are your friends. Steve and Karen care, and when they say “real estate at your pace” they mean it. It’s like they truly enjoy touring homes and chatting with you, regardless of the outcome. “Don’t want it? No problem, onto the next house”’ is their vibe. “Need a few years? No big deal, we’re here”. Steve and Karen did an outstanding job in helping my wife and I find and purchase our new home in Delaware. We moved from out of state and were not very familiar with the area or the Delaware real estate market. We searched google for a list of agents to contact and found Team Freebery among others. Our intention was to speak to several agents and then make a decision on who we should ultimately go with. But after our initial conversations with Steve and Karen, we felt so comfortable that we didn't bother contacting anyone else. Steve and Karen are professional, knowledgeable, and very personable. They explained strategies we could use to secure the home we wanted and eventually we were able to purchase a home using those strategies. They were both very responsive and diligent during the entire process. They were also very patient. We never felt pressured at any time to make a decision or take an action. We have worked with Karen and Steve both as buyers and as sellers, and they were wonderful in both situations. They are knowledgable, practical, detail oriented, caring, responsive, trustworthy, and dedicated. They listened closely to what was important to us and gave great guidance but never applied pressure to make any one decision. They also know so many people that they have a referral or recommendation for anything that might come up. When we worked with them as sellers, we really needed our home sale to go smoothly, as we were dealing with a lot of other pressures, including an international move and a family emergency. Steven and Karen (Team Freebery) went above and beyond to help us sell our beloved Wilmington home of 16 years. By the time we put our house on the market, it had suddenly become a more difficult time to sell because interest rates had risen fast and were continuing to rise. In spite of this, their knowledge about staging and promoting our home, including putting it up for a sale at a price we thought was representative, though rather aggressive, given the quickly changing market dynamics, helped to draw in over a dozen appointments over a long weekend and led to a couple of very generous offers. Given that they had just helped us buy our new home, we were able to sell our home in a few short weeks.
