Candye and her team made it so easy to get a house! I had to move to Michigan on short notice for work. Having rented before, I refused to rent again, but it is a tall ask to find a place and finalize closing within two months with a house market the way it is. Well, Hinton Group made it happen!!!! Candye met with me and my partner as soon as I contacted them. She explained the process to buy property in Michigan in detail and discussed strategies with us. She got to know us and our preferences, was not pushy, was not trying to just sell any home and earn a commission. She made sure the places she showed us would be places we could call home. As we searched for properties remotely, Candye, Paris and James did facetime walkthroughs with us and told her honest opinion on the state of the property (for example cigarette smoke smell, broken windows, issues with layout, etc.). As soon as we found a property that my partner and I liked, she drafted the paperwork so fast we were the first offer, and it was accepted. The rest of the process went very smoothly. The Hinton group advocated for us at every step of the way, and they continued to follow up with us afterwards to make sure we were happy and settled. I have bought properties in the past and have never experienced this level of professionalism. I would give 10 stars if I could.

Absolutely fantastic team. Candye was exceptional in every part of the process to find and close on my new home. I had a very small window of time to find and buy a home, and not only did they meet that challenge, but they accomplished it. Paris was extremely helpful and thorough walking me through the homes we looked at and in a very precise way, helped me land on the home that fit best. 5 stars doesn’t really give them enough credit, so if your looking for a real estate group, look no further. Give them a call!

Because I would if I could. Candye guided my wife and I through the home buying process with patience, persistence, and an experienced hand. We have our home because of her. We could not have possible picked a better realtor.

Candye always made sure we had the information we needed to make the right choice. She shared her advice and even when we made a decision different than what she suggested she still advocated for us and fought to make our choice happen. She also went above and beyond by making sure we could fully look through homes even with our child along with us. Even after closing she advocated for us beyond what most people would do.

I also have to mention the excellent Paris Reese who was with us at every step and every showing. Her purposefulness, focus, and kindness are also why we have our home and we have her to thank for it as well.

My partner and worked with Candye to sell our home in Normal Park, and she was beyond wonderful. From start to finish (staging, photographing, listing, hosting open houses, and navigating the sale) it was a whirlwind 45-day process, and when our moving timeline changed, she made sure we had whatever help we needed--even a cleaning service to haul away our leftover furniture and debris and clean the house for the new homeowners! We felt awful having to rush away, but she was such an amazing support and she got stuff done. We really can't sing her praises enough. It was such an effort, and she and her team were there for us every step of the way. It felt really great to work with her. She is such a generous, kind, experienced, and knowledgable professional, and an excellent pillar of the community. She's all about supporting small, local, and Black-owned businesses, and we have no reservations recommending her.

Candye Hinton has been doing this a long time. This means that she knows what she's doing. I felt cared for and deeply supported throughout the buying process. She's smart, wise, patient, intuitive, and an advocate. Did I mention she's patient? I was a nervous buyer and she walked by my side through the labyrinth that is the home buying process. Candye Hinton has been my agent for the purchase and for the sale of my home in Ypsilanti. When I purchased my home in February of 2019 I was living in AZ. I flew in MLK weekend. Arriving in Ypsilanti on Friday. Of course, it snowed like 4 inches overnight. But that did not stop us from house shopping. Needless to say, we all did a lot of driving. I did not really find what I was looking for. So back on the road on Monday. By the end of the day, I found a home and Candye submitted the offer that night. She made sure everything went smoothly. We closed on 2/6/2019. Fast forward to May of 2021. My fiancé had a great job opportunity in the Panhandle of Florida. So, we decided to move to Florida. So, I again contacted Candye. We had the majority of the items out of the house. We just ran out of time to finish cleaning, painting, etc. So, Candye purpose to me for a bit more commission, her and her team would finish prepping the house to sale. It was money well spent. I knew that I had nothing to worry about with Candye in charge. The house sold for over list price. I also have gained a friend for life. She will be attending my wedding next July.

Such a wonderful experience as both a buyer and a seller. Kayia and Candye are such a dynamic duo who worked really hard to keep me informed, updated and empowered every step of the process. I truly couldn't have asked for a better or a more professional experience, especially since buying a home and selling a home can always be such a stressful and time consuming thing to do.

Their office is conveniently located right in downtown Ypsilanti and there's ample nearby parking, but they're very willing to meet in the community if need be.

So I’m not even sure where to start with this review except to say that without the team at Hinton, we would be nowhere. Buying a first home is an intimidating thing. Buying a first home in competitive Ann Arbor and the most insane, low inventory, sellers’ market ever felt like it was going to be an impossible task! BUT Olivia, Parker and Candye helped us navigate the entire emotional process of finding, placing an offer and closing on, not only our first house, but a house that has every potential to be our forever home. Candye and the Hinton Team are amazing! After hearing them speak on WEMU about lower down payment options for home ownership my wife and I paid them a visit. They sat down with us and gave us great advice about navigating the whole process and asked us to be very specific about what we were looking for in a house. They set up three showings for us the next week. The day we went out to see the houses another one came on to the market which Candye thought met our desires perfectly. She was right! We made an offer that night. Two months after we began the process of buying a house we were moving in and couldn't be happier. My experience with the Hinton-Team was great. I called Hinton mid-May. They had people viewing the property within the week and we closed on the property at the beginning of July. No problems. What made me feel comfortable was they asked me questions to make sure I received (at minimum) what I wanted from the sell. It was a great experience and I’ll use them again.

Mary was the best! My wife and I went from happily renting a house to owning our own house in the span of less than a month and a half after our landlord needed to sell the house we were currently living in. Mary was knowledgeable about the process and what to look for in a house and was AMAZING when it came to putting in an offer and dealing with the post acceptance negotiations. She was flexible with her time in managing various inspections and making us completely comfortable with the entirety of the process. This was especially helpful for us in that we were first time home buyers so everything was new. As first time homebuyers I don't think my wife and I could have found a better group than Team Hinton to guide us through this process. From our early email exchanges with Bonnie and our first, and only, showing with Candye and Marta everyone was wonderful and patient as we asked all the annoying questions first time homebuyers ask. When we were hesitating about putting in an offer just because it was the first house we saw, Candye helped remind us that we had been virtually touring houses for months and we weren't just being impulsive.

Once we decided to make an offer Shalini was incredible. I'm not sure I would have survived the process without her. She walked us through every simple and complicated step and was always available even when I was just being annoying and wanting information that wasn't available yet. When we hit an unexpected delay in the loan process she worked with our lender directly to help make sure we stuck to the new schedule and kept me from feeling as much of that stress as possible.

When it came time to close Kayia had to step in after our delayed loan processing caused Shalini to be unavailable on the new closing date but the transition was seamless. We had the pleasure of working with 5 different members of Team Hinton and our experience was outstanding with every one of them.

Erin and I have been in our new home for a month now and we have Shalini and Team Hinton to thank for that. I will certainly be recommending Team Hinton to any of my friends or family looking for a Realtor in Livingston or Washtenaw County but more importantly, Shalini will be my first call the next time I'm looking for a new home.
