Ted Steers grew up in the international resort town of Stowe Vermont. A student athlete in the division 1 Alpine ski program at Middlebury College, it was a natural transition when Vail Resorts invited Ted to join their team in Colorado to help support its rapidly developing identity at a world class ski racing department. When Ted moved to Vail he never looked back, embracing the lifestyle and culture of the Rocky Mountains
After two fun filled years working on Vail Mountain Ted began a career producing international corporate event planning. Hosting a variety of adventure filled trips to Australia, London, Monte Carlo, France, and all over the United States. Ted credits these global influences on his unique understanding of the international traveler. Global travelers enjoy diversity in cultures while expecting consistency in both service and quality.
Ted makes it a point to understand the buyer’s objectives before beginning the search. We find that the less time someone may have to enjoy Vail the closer they need to be in the Village. This balances well with the ability of an “in the Village” property to generate revenue during weeks when the owner is not enjoying the residence. In contrast a family who can enjoy a Vail home every weekend, needs to stay focused on location as it relates to the ski and snowboard programs and grocery stores; keeping in mind the effort as it relates to getting in and out of town forty times per year.
