About Timothy
Having grown up in Maryland, the Baltimore area was Timothy’s back yard. Upon graduating from the Carroll County School system, he moved on to attend West Virginia Wesleyan College. It was there that he studied Business Management, Economics, Marketing, Advertising, Accounting, and other various services that the college provided for small business owners. After college he moved back to Maryland to start his career in Real Estate in the area he knew best.
Being a native of Carroll County, Timothy is also a third generation Real Estate Agent/Broker. Growing up in a Real Estate household, Timothy received the benefits of the training for his Real Estate career. He has firsthand experience by working with his father and grandfather on building projects (both residential and commercial), subdivision work and general brokerage. With this experience Timothy has many contacts with Builders, Contractors, Subcontractors, Developers, Investors, Bankers, Lenders Engineers/surveyors, local property owners and fellow Real Estate Agents/Brokers. He has been involved in all aspects of New Home sales and construction. This involvement has been everything from finding the raw land to both developing the land and selling it to one of the builder(s) /developer(s) he worked with. The developer and Timothy would take the project to record plat or sell to another builder. He also would do the marketing for the new homes. He has worked with many smaller builders who only sell two or three homes a year, up to larger builders who settle 50 to 100 homes a year.
Timothy’s senior year of college, his father sold Dulany Real Estate to Russell T. Baker, which in turned sold to Coldwell Banker. During his time at Coldwell Banker, he was a Senior Service Sales Associate and their Corporate Relocation Specialist for Carroll County. In addition, he has a BSS Designation (Builder Service Specialist). He belonged to Coldwell Banker’s Top Sales Club, the Premier Club for selling over 5 million dollars in residential and commercial property per year. He was also the Top Agent in his office for Listings and Sales and one of the Top Producers Company wide. Coldwell Banker then closed due to restructuring and franchise changes. He then went to O’Conner Piper and Flynn. During his time at OPF, he was also a Top Producer for the company. However, he changed companies due to the opportunities that RE/MAX Advantage Realty offers to top producing agents. This move gave him the freedom to open his own Brokerage/Referral Company called Excel Investments, Inc., T/A Excel Referral Network. In his referral company, he has people continuously giving him buy/seller leads and he also takes care of property management of investment (rental) properties. He was just recently honored with the RE/MAX Lifetime Achievement Award as well as the RE/MAX 20 Years of Service Award for over 20 years of service with RE/MAX.
In addition to his career in Real Estate, Timothy has served on various committees throughout the Carroll County Community. He is a past director for the Local Association of Realtors. Besides being a life member of The Carroll County Million Dollar Club, he also served as past Treasurer. He has served on the Development Comity of Copper Ridge and the past chairman on the Board of Trustees of Wesley Freedom United Methodist Church. In addition, he has also been a scout leader for over 15 years. He has been a member of NRG, LETIP and SCDA.
Among his local influences, Timothy has a large network of people in the area and all over the states, Pennsylvania, Delaware, Virginia, West Virginia, and Florida, plus a national and International Network.
