About Toni

Toni is a lifelong resident of Newton, IA. She and her husband, Kevin, live on an acreage S.E. of town. They house and care for a variety of rescue animals, including horses, miniature donkeys, pigs, goats, sheep, cats, and dogs. They are parents to three daughters: Tara (Erick) Zehr, Rachel (Bryce) Skaggs, and Taylor McGonegle. They enjoy spending time with their family and five grandchildren. The entire family enjoys a variety of sports; specifically, the Chicago Cubs and Newton Cardinal activities.

Toni is also actively involved as Board President of the local Chamber, Red Pride Community Service Day, H.E.A.R.T. literacy program through R.S.V.P., and as Clerk of Session with her local church. She is also a Master Garden which means she gets even more upset when plantings do not do well. She has previously served as a Big Brother/Big Sister mentor, and board member for Jasper County Animal Rescue League, NHS Athletic Booster board member, JCCPCA, Jasper County Extension Service, Project Awake, and United Way of Jasper County. In 2014, she was honored as the recipient of the Chamber's "Community Service Award."
