Tyler Mahoney is the latest Realtor to join the EXP Realty LLC team and a full time resident of Clinton, MO as of October 2021. He hails from Lee’s Summit, MO originally, and most recently, Joplin, MO. But, his roots have run deep in the Clinton and Warsaw areas for the last 20 years.
His family has owned various recreational hunting and fishing properties in the area during that time. So, for most of his life, he has spent the majority of his weekends in the woods and waters around Truman Lake.
His wife, Sami, is a dentist and works at Compass Health Network in Clinton. Together they hope to open her very own practice one day in town. Tyler has been a full-time salesperson and manager in the medical sales industry for 7 years where he has led teams covering Missouri, Kansas, Nebraska, Illinois, Oklahoma, and Arkansas. He’s certainly no stranger to “windshield” time.
During that span, he has worked to develop a “side hustle” based around his passion for hunting and fishing. What started as writing the weekly hunting and fishing report column for the Kansas City Star between 2018-2021 turned into something much more. In mid-2020, he founded trumanlakefishingintel.com, which allows members to gain access to exclusive fishing reports and videos from the lake expert guides and tournament anglers. The membership has grown to over 2,500, with over 60,000 unique visitors coming to the site annually. He manages several websites including trumanlakefishingintel.com, mahoneyoutdoors.com, and lsareafishing.com, along with multiple social media pages and groups.
While hunting and fishing are major passions for Tyler, so is land management and conservation. Ultimately, that drove his interest towards real estate with a focus in helping others find their own once-in-a-lifetime recreational properties and homes away from the city. He also helps other landowners design and implement management plans to improve the hunting and fishing on their properties.
