I chose Verne, as our realtor, because I believed he had the best expertise to get us through the buyer’s process. We processed our loan through an out of state company for Veterans that needed much paperwork which delayed our closing date twice (about two weeks). During this time we had several phone conversations with Verne along with him reaching out to our lender. Each time something was needed for the lending institution he drove about 45 minutes to our property. His diligence, patience, and professionalism were superb.

We highly recommend Verne and Joan Folkmann. We had three properties to sell; Verne timed the market so we were extremely satisfied with the prices we received. Communication with Verne and Joan was excellent. They are prompt in their response and attentive to our sales. Finally, Verne and Joan are nice people, and not just to us as clients, but they were nice to our tenants, the mortgage lenders and other brokers. It made the sale process a pleasure. We would certainly use them for all future real estate transactions!

Verne Folkmann helped me buy a home, then later later sell that home very quickly. He helped me buy another home and a few years later successfully helped me sell the home. With this last home, we had challenging circumstances, yet Verne executed an accepted purchase offer on my terms the first day it was listed and we closed within 30 days. Verne knew my goals and he came through by going above and beyond what was necessary. If you listen to Verne's ideas and suggestions he will take you from listing to sale, (or shopping, to offer accepted, and moving in) very quickly. Any questions, I am happy to answer.

We began working with Verne Folkmann when we decided to move our family from California to Iowa this summer. He came highly recommended and now we know why. Verne has been a realtor in the Iowa City area for over 25 years and knowledge is vast. He answered questions we had about neighborhoods, shopping, home prices, traffic etc with ease. Verne answered calls, texts and emails promptly. He told us what vendors to use for remodeling and checked on the house regularly to make sure the work was being done right and on schedule. When we had a problem with one of the vendors, Verne went to bat for us and hung in there over a few months until the vendor made it right. (Verne had not had a problem with that vendor before and is no longer recommending their services.) Bottom Line: Verne went above and beyond for us. He’s a very kind man, extremely easy to work with, and we highly recommend him as well.

Verne was amazing both when we purchased our home 4 years ago and when we sold it this past year. We were purchasing from out of state, and Verne came through for us by going to the inspections and guiding us from afar. He has a great eye for the market and also for aspects of a home and the neighborhood to help you find the right fit. When selling, he was great at showing our home, and had a fair bid before the home even went on the market (before the market got so hot!)

He came highly recommended to us, and I would highly recommend him to anyone. An Iowa treasure!
