As a real estate agent, Viv enjoys helping people feel at home in their new house and neighborhood, whether they are relocating from across the pond or somewhere closer. She has firsthand experience raising children who went through the San Carlos school system and have gone on to be successful in college. Viv knows how hard it is when you don’t know anyone in your new surroundings, so she recommends the best schools to her clients as well as local good eats, health care professionals, and other community resources.
Viv moved from Wales, UK to the San Francisco Peninsula in 2001 with her husband and their two young children. After renting in Redwood City for a few years, they bought their current home in San Carlos. It took them a while to get familiar with their new surroundings, and they were in for a bit of a culture shock.
Viv has always had an interest in home building and construction. Her father did plasterwork when she was growing up, and she helped him on construction sites during the school vacations. After settling in the Bay Area, Viv studied interior design at Canada College in Redwood City and opened my own interior design staging business. She earned her real estate license in 2012 and became a real estate broker in 2016.
Viv sees the design and functional potential of properties. When she shows a home to buyers, she paints a “buyer vision” for them. She discusses what can be done to make the home nicer to live in, increase its value and even the opportunity to build an accessory dwelling unit to help subsidize the mortgage payment.
Viv helps sellers figure out which cosmetic updates they should make to create additional value and bring a higher sale price. When a seller’s home is ready to go on the market part of her marketing plan is to have a professionally filmed video walkthrough tour produced to introduce the home, highlight its best features and surrounding community.
Viv has received many awards during her time with Realty World and won the 2018 Hall of Fame top company award. She graduated for the University of Warwick, UK in 1989 with a Bachelor of Science degree in Biological Sciences with an emphasis on Microbiology and Virology.
