We’ve worked with Yvette twice, once to buy a property in Wintergreen and years later to sell it. Both times, she was outstanding.

On the buying side, she went above and beyond. She even drove up the mountain at the beginning of a snowstorm to record a detailed walkthrough video for us without being asked. She showed us everything, down to schlepping through snow and mud to look at the HVAC compressor. She guided us through the process step by step and stayed in touch after closing as we considered other properties.

When it came time to sell, she made it fast and painless. She lined up multiple realtors to bring buyers through, marketed it well, and sold our place quicker and for more money than we expected, even in a buyer’s market.

Yvette represented us in the sale of a property belonging to 3 siblings residing in 3 different States, none of which coincided with the property. She was so helpful in being our eyes and ears and in helping us get the cabin ready remotely. It was a tricky closing as well because it was done remotely and all closing docs had to be signed, notarized and returned by a tight deadline. Yvette kept on top of us to make sure things went as smoothly as possible. She acted professionally and was communicative and responsive at all hours, even if it was to tell me she was in a closing and would have to get back to me. She was sensible in her recommendations, and above all she sold our property at the asking price within what seemed to me a very short listing period. Highly highly recommend working with Yvette! From the moment we reached out to Yvette, she got straight to work helping us find the right plot of land to build our dream home! Within an hour of getting in touch with her, she had already sent me a ton of information on a plot we were interested in, and she had made plans to drive out to the land to walk the lot herself - this was SO helpful to us, as we lived about a 1.5 hours away and she sent us multiple videos since we couldn't be in person to see the land ourselves. She also helped us navigate a unique, remote closing situation by being the liaison between the different parties (lender, closing office, etc) to ensure a smooth closing process.

Yvette is highly knowledgeable, trustworthy, and honest, all of which showed in how she provided recommendations, talked us through factors to consider, and helped us make an offer and purchase a beautiful lot. My wife and I worked with Yvette Stafford (and John McKeithen) for about three years as we searched for a retirement home in Nellysford. Both are good agents that we highly recommend. The remainder of this review is about our experience working with Yvette.

Yvette is very knowledgable of the local real estate market and market dynamics. She seems to have an excellent rapport with her colleagues at Nest Realty and other agencies (e.g., Wintergreen, etc.), which we found helpful during our search. More important to us, however, is that Yvette is practical and down to earth.

During our search, Yvette proved to be very flexible, typically finding time to show us new listings within in a day or two. When asked, she actively engaged in making an initial evaluation of the property she was showing, sometimes pointing out important details that we might have missed. She was good at following up with answers to questions that arose while looking at different properties and providing us with up to date data on the local real estate sales. Yvette is consistently patient and understanding; qualities that became clear when we had a purchase contract that did not workout. She is well connected with service providers and other businesses in the community that are important to buyers. For example, when we had a question about a potential, and unusual, structural issue with one house, Yvette, on short notice, arranged for a well respected contractor to assess the structure. While the contractor gave us his opinion, he also sent pictures to an engineer who responded within minutes. Yvette seems to regard this type of attention to customers as an almost routine and important part of her profession.

Like any real estate agent, Yvette is in business to list and sell houses. But she also understands that when representing a buyer, she is working with “people” making serious decisions about finding a home. In our case, she quickly understood that even in a hot market some buyers need time and space to carefully consider a potential purchase.

We enjoyed working with Yvette! Conversations with her and her actions make it clear that she is intelligent and enlightened; and, as much as we respect those qualities, we greatly appreciate her “down to earth” style.
